China-Northbound

Coming from Tropical Islands to China-Beijing is quite a shock, it’s hugely different! And I suddenly longed for the small town life I was so familiar with. But the time in China was unique; it was a stage of growth, learning, pondering and experience. Sometimes it’s difficult far from home but I know God’s purpose is far greater than I can imagine.

We went to the Tibetan region for our ministry points and we met up with some amazing men and woman of God who gave up their lives back home to follow Christ. One particular guy had the potential of the life that everybody dreams of. He is a highly educated business man. He was the youngest commercial pilot in his country by the age of 16 and was teaching pilots by the age of 18. His father was the mayor of their town and he at the young age of 20 was advising cabinet ministers and running elections for politicians.  But he faithfully answered to the calling of God to be a Christian business man in China and leave everything behind of his promised life of money and power and follow Christ.

In this time our team had to split up in 3 different groups and did ministry in 3 different places, Justin, Lume and I went to a very small town in the Tibetan region surrounded by beautiful snowy mountains. This was a time of intimacy with God, seeking Him and spending quality time with Him. We prayed for open doors and divine appointments and as always God was faithful to our prayers and we met an English speaking local, which was a miracle in itself as hardly anyone in the town could speak or understand English. We decided to climb one of the mountains together, and on top of this mountain with its breathtaking view over the town we got to share the gospel with him, as this was happening an eagle was soaring above us the entire time and I knew that the presence of God was surely with us. The second last day of our stay he gave his heart to Jesus, thank you Lord!! Lume planned a special day for us and build a cross on a hill looking over the town, which was a beautiful sight as there is no sign of any Christianity in the town. We worshipped God and had communion on the hill and again an eagle was soaring above us and I knew God is with us, and He is in control, the eagles, the wind, the mountains obeys Him, He is their Lord as well.

Back in Beijing we attended the Beijing International Church, it was remarkable. I wonder how many different nationalities were in that church. It was an amazing experience, Christians worshipping God together from right across the world. After the church service we met a woman Dawn, she has prayed for a long time that God would send people that could go prayer walking with her in the area that she lives in. So we agreed to go with her, she just started crying and worshipping God. We had an amazing afternoon giving out tracks, praying for people and buildings, playing with the kids on the street. After our walk we went to her house to pray, the 6 of us shared water out of one cup and shared a pear. Dawn’s obedience to God is inspiring. Beijing is very challenging for her but still she commits and her boldness to proclaim the gospel was encouraging!! She is a beautiful woman of God and sacrifices allot for her King.

I realized again that God knows and attends to our deepest desires. God came and pursued me in this time in Tibet; He showed me how He sees me and loves me in amazing ways. My Father God is so beautiful, majestic, powerful, awesome and holy. He is everything that I ever wanted and needed. He is the reason that I live and is still alive. He is everything and everything is about Him. He is beautiful!!
