The greatest of these is LOVE!

We were busy feeding the village kids in Pemba when God spoke to me. It was so clear. This is what Jesus called us to do. To feed the hungry, to pray for the sick, to give the orphans a place to sleep, to love the widows, to love the lost and to free people in bondage. To be Jesus's hand and feet. This is what Jesus did and this is what we are called to do. This is what the Gospel of Jesus asks of us. The problem is that we sometimes believe the Gospel of Jesus but we fail to live it. I believe that once we live the Gospel of Jesus its then when we will start seeing things happen. We will start seeing lives and nations changed like what is happening here in Mozambique.

During our time at Iris Ministries I have learned so much about Jesus's heart and his love for the destitute. I have come to learn that we cannot save the world by ourselves but that we can change the world for one person by God's power and leading. By stopping for the one in front of you and and seeking God's heart for that one person. Forgetting about everything around you and focusing on that one person. If we look at Jesus, we can see that this is how he did his ministry. He stopped for people and he changed their lives. Your path might cross with a street vendor which has never experienced Gods love and God just wants to touch this man with the love of the Father using you to just lay your hands on him or the the cripple begger who God wants to heal. The problem is that most of the time we are to busy and send the poor street vendor on his way or look the other way when walking past the crippled begger.

God really spoke to me through 1 John 4:12. “No one has ever seen God. But if we love each other, God lives in us and his love is brought to full expression in us.” We live in a world were people has never experienced Gods love. But God's love becomes visible to people if his love manifests in us and people can experience the love of the Father in this way. We just need to be Gods love to people, pray Gods love over people and pray that they will experience Gods love. I believe it is Gods heart that all will know how much he loves them and God can use us if only we would let him. If only we would stop long enough to hear his heart for someone.

It think it is so important, because Gods love has the power to conquer everything. God loves the lost, he loves the drug addicts, he loves the alcoholics, he loves the atheists, he loves them all . I think the problem is sometimes that we don't love them and so we deny them the opportunity to see Gods love through us. If only they could know how much their Creator loved them. It's that love that God sent his only begotten son to die for us that makes all resistance crumble and make the biggest of sinners fall on their knees in repentance. Its when we stop for the person in front of us and seek God's heart for them that we will see lives changed one at a time through the loving touch of Jesus Christ.

Paul write in 1 Cor 13 that all will fade away but Faith, Hope and Love will last forever. And the greatest of these is Love!

the world around us is waiting not only to hear but to be influenced by this heavenly culture. Christ did and is still embracing a culture of caring and sharing, this is love that heals the broken world around us!

So true, so simple, but we fail to do it on a daily basis. I want to challenge all who read this to try one random act of love to a stranger or a stranger to the Truth daily for a week, and see what awesome testimonies will come from that. Loce until it hurts.
