Guatamala an overview

We arrived late in Guatamala close to 22h and like all good global challengers we slept at the airport to the amusement of the early morning travellers.

The bus we took from Guatamala city to Panajachel was intresting in diversity of rainbow colours and lets just say the drive down was speedy and not what i am used to in a public bus down a rather steep hill. But then again nothing of the time in Panajachel was what i am used to..........

When we arrived in Pana i looked forward to lay eyes on the famous Ben of Panajachel and when i saw the tall figure in a cowboy hat, cowboy boots, a faded denim, short sleeve shirt and tattoos everywhere, i think the phrase Marnus has coined this year NICE with a slight Texas drawl to it works perfectly!! He did not let grass grow under his boots and we set about a tough but hugely rewarding program.

We started of building doors and window frames for the house that last years group build in Santa Catarina. Then we attended lectures Monday - Wednesday, church on Thursday and Sunday and cell groups on Friday.

And that was only week 1. After that we started building a house in every sense of the word, spiritually and physically. We joined hands with Mi - Reto and worked at getting involved with the community and continued being stretched spiritually with the lectures and physically with the hard work and consistent afternoon rain.

We had our BIG sending out day with the mission of finding lost souls and demon possesed people and bring them back to church for prayer. It poured with rain and i have never been out in that kind of weather out of my own free will! I joined up with Anelda and it was awesome. We saw a demon manifestation to us speaking the name of Jesus Christ! The adrenalin rush was amazing!

Then the day before we left on Luke 10 we had the most heart breaking, heart purifying, soul surrendering day! We nailed our sins litterally on a wooden cross reminding me of my part in putting Jesus up there. Then we went to take our papers of shame of the cross and it was CLEAN, everything we marked and wrote down was wiped away - clear! Just as God intended when He send Jesus to the cross so that through Him becoming our sin offering we mortal humans were made right with God! It was awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Then we had communion with the church and they washed our feet a humbling experience coupled with the seriousness of being Gods ambassodors with the authority of Christ accompanying us on our journey and life from this moment on!!
