FCE: Up to what?

Almost a month into this Global Challenge journey and we have come as far as Zambia. We are comletely isolated from civilisation
and stay at the FCE training facility deep inside the bush next to the local villages.

Now, the travel up to Zambia was a mission of its own and definitely the road less travelled. It was set as a challenge to each of the individual teams with the following objectives:
-Get to Zambia (FCE base near Ndola) in the shortest possible time
-Take a photo of the Victoria Falls
-Take a picture of as many of the Big Five as possible
-Raise R2000
-Spend the least amount of money on the journey.

What a blessed two weeks it hadn’t been TEACH? A spiritual blessing as well as physically spoiled, eg an air-conditioned room which is really a treat in the Thai summer.

Storm in NZ

Storm in NZ
The colder temperatures of Nieu Zealand were very refreshing after the humidity of India. We arrived in Auckland around 26 June and spend a week of debriefing and recharging at a beautiful place just north of Auckland, Algies Bay. We were really spoiled by the Kiwi South Africans (potjiekos and koeksisters) who took care of us. Thank you all. Six of the team; Tobi, Wesley, Kobus, Margot, Zylna and me went down to Wellington from 5 -12 July where we joined a local church' winter program called STORM which is a acronym for Service To Others Really Matters. The team...

Waterfalls near Hat Yai

Submitted by Elizma Myburgh

elizma_152.jpg
I remember my dad once wrote me a dramatic monologue to perform entitled "You need to climb the mountain to reach the star". How true those words are! Not funny at all that I were thinking on these when Sac took us up a mountain to see some waterfall ... Sac, it was worth every muscle-stretching step and thought of murder!!

Changing eternity

191.jpg

I don’t really know why but for some or other reason God wants us to pray for certain things or situations before He will engage in it.  God thought it good for us to be involved in His business. A typical fatherly attribute to get his sons involve in what he is doing, not really because he need their help but more because he wants to spend time with them and builds friendship with them.

The children from India

The children from India
Almost two weeks after we have left India, but still the children at the orphanage stays in my heart We really had an unforgettable time with the kids. The orphanage that we visited was one of many that are run by the organisation and had about 500 kids. This organisation look after about 6000 orphans in total. (A bit of statistics: There are currently 86million street children in India, almost double SA population) One of the questions raised to me was what motivated me to get involve with the kids, well I don t think it will be possible to...

Smell, feel and hear India

Smell, feel and hear India
India is not just a new country but a whole new experience. Even the sounds of India is something unique. You definitely know that you are in the most populated country in the world. When we landed in Delhi a month ago I realised this is going to be special. They were not joking when they said that India is one of the hottest countries, specially in May when it is the hottest month of the year. And to be cultural sensitive long trousers is the way to go in India. BUT, and I believe it is God's favor to...

For quite a while now I have been walking with the question that how can it be fair that some get to hear the gospel each day of his life and then there are others that never got the chance to hear it before they die. Do these two individuals have the same chance of being saved?

Guatamala to Mexico

Guatamala to Mexico
Guatamala is propably not the first country that comes to mind if you think of a holiday destination. Well I can just confirm that it is worth spending time in this country. Apart from the people that are very friendly it is also reasonably cheap and have majestic sceneries.   Our time in Panajachel (town in Guatamala) was mainly used for building projects. We linked with a local church and assist them with the various projects that they are involved in.   I had to leave the team though to travel back to SA for my sister's wedding. I have...

Whata Great Wall

Hector on a mission!Written by Hector:

We have been in China for almost 2 weeks now and it is about time show you what is happening in China lately.

The latest event was a visit to the Great Wall which was really great as you can see on photo beside.

The previous two weeks we were kind of "Stepping on toes" as described by Sulene, so with Sulene's consent (I hope) I have added part of her email to explain more...
