You never appreciate what you have until it's gone.

Sure, everyone has heard that phrase before. But does one understand what it truly means?

I've lost a lot of things in my life. Too much to remember. Some so valuable that I'll never be able to replace it. Some I gave away, some were taken.

Do I understand now how valuable they actually were? No. Not fully. Will I? I suppose so... Time will reveal the value to me.

Time has revealed the value of some things to me. Some things I've taken for granted for most of my life. I'm not talking about a new iPhone, a Mac or whatever it is people lose their minds about these days.

I'm talking about friendship, fellowship, family and relationship. I do know that I DON'T know the full value of these things either. I just know now that it's more important than anything money can buy.

I also know now that time is the currency of eternity and that whatever we invest our time in NOW is what our lives will display.

Isn't it crazy to think how God is in all stages of time? Future, past and present, and that he invested his time into making us, creating us, knitting us together piece by piece. Now think about what God sacrificed for us.

It's crazy right? Mankind goes around for generations losing their focus, shifting it or just ignoring their purpose (which is to glorify God) they get distracted. All the while God is watching, knowing. I wonder how that must feel?

I think one of the biggest disappointments I had to endure was the day I realized that I intentionally lost time. I gave away and spent time on things that have no meaning.

My focus was in the wrong place, I was without purpose. Now I'm without words.
I'm Timeless. Boundless. Free. I'm left standing with open arms. With no rights before God.

Broken, vulnerable and true. What did I do to deserve this? What did I do to deserve God's unfailing, everlasting love? His amazing grace.

By grace I stand complete. Payed for. By grace I have received a second chance. A chance to spend my time on things that matter. A time to invest into friends, fellowship, family and relationship.

A chance to invest into people. Life. Adventure. God.

I never knew what I had until I wasted it. Time.
