Land of smiles

Thailand has been fantastic! Our team has developed so much in terms of unity as well as individually in the Spirit. How can one not have increasing faith after being sustained by God for more than a week. All of our Luke 10 experiences were majestic and to the purest form, a Father spoiling His children. Going into a stage where we started asking questions about our futures, this new faith He has given us tends to the fears and uncertainties about our lives after Global. God is good and sovereign. He has proven Himself faithful beyond measure and through knowing this part of Him we have peace.

Whimsicality has been  flowing through the team during our time here. After watching a devastating video about human trafficking, our gentlemen devised a plan to show the ladies how much they honor us and respect and love us as ladies and daughters of the living King. We were tricked into a beautiful dinner where the gentlemen led us to our seats and pushed them in, and served us as true princesses. It inspired us to become more like the gentle ladies God intended us to be.

Next we planned an evening where we celebrated our leader's belated birthday as an opportunity to thank and honor him. The spirit of whimsy is inspiring anonymous encouragements through treasure hunts. Couldn't think it possible to love these people more, but alas.

So besides the whimsy, we have also been working, physically, socially (well if you'd like to call that work) and spiritually. So during our time in Phuket we were hosted by an inspiring South African woman who started a few foundations in Thailand. We had the opportunity to serve at a school she started that provides education to Burmese children that don't get the education they deserve.

Well there was a lot of physical work. Walls needed to be built, doors needed to be replaced, a whole hydroponics system needed to be repaired, classrooms needed to be decorated and some real manly welding jobs needed to be done. So we started, and we finished WELL. All these projects and more were completed in just 5 days. Whilst there was a team member fasting each day during our 11 day chain fast. Yes. God sustains and he is so good!

Besides the  physical we had a challenge in the spiritual, every morning one teammate had to have a devotional ready for the whole team to participate in. This was amazing. We were so blessed by each other and the words God brought forth. It was surprising sometimes.

But this was Thailand for us. We are leaving, changed, not the same, better, more grounded in God and we leave the land of smiles, with great smiles on our faces. Watch out Malaysia, here we come!
