Boarding

Life is all about listening and waiting, being patient. We tend to do things the opisit way around. We strive to be better and better and the faster we achieve status, the more forfilling our lives will be. Why does everything have to be a rush? A race to success. What is success anyway? When I've achieved my goals, of couse. What if the only goal I have is to love? Is that enough? Will that ever be enough? What if I own no possessions and no one tends to love me back? We all know what the "Christian answer"...

Finding joy in the small things.

Finding joy in the small things.   Well of we go to Malaysia but first, what a awesome time we had in Loas . We had amazing time with the people in Loas and learned so much. I could really see God working through the people that we met and the people we spend time with.   I personally learned so much just by intentionally spending time with people in the country and really seeing how they find so much joy in the small things in life. I learned that I almost always take everything for granted. God really showed...

Vietnam

The kind of people that could change lives with just a smile. Vietnam has truly been a life changing experience for me, because we arrived after 12 in the night at our destination I wasn’t expecting a very warm welcome but when we arrived we were greeted with big smiles and warm hearts and in that moment I knew the Lord was present in that place. They sat us down at a table where they prepared a meal for us and we could not have been any happier. I went to bed that night with a joyful heart...

the unknown road

the-unknown-road
Sitting on a night at the final end of a training period for new students of Global Challenge Expeditions, I find myself excited for them and their year. The adventures to be had, the people to be met, the views to be seen and the roads to be walked/jumped/ran on or where they would just stand - to take it all in.   Little more than 4 years ago, I was the new pilgrim embarking on the fresh path of the unknown, with the only constant assurance being that that which lies ahead was already planned by a Higher hand....

Availability and not ability!

Availability and not ability   What a time we have had in Johannesburg with Brian and his team!   It was truly an amazing experience where we learned so much about ourselves and about God and his plans for us.     I personally learned   so much about how God wants to use us in our everyday life’s.   I learned that it is not about our ability to do things but about our availability so that God can do things threw us.     We saw some truly amazing things, such as healings that took place, people getting...

fix your focus

IMG_20180504_180956_944
Taking photos in the outdoors we see this eagle in flight and pull out our camera's immediately focussing on the eagle close by and blurring out the rest, zooming in to see the detail of the eye forgetting about the rest. Having the right angle to capture the Beauty of the feathers, have the shutter speed just right to catch the perfect shot. Have the aperture bigger to capture more light to emphasize the Eagle. Have the right aspect ratio to get the size of the photo right.   We are so focused on using all these features to get...

Jesus has the key! You are white washed you are clean!

IMG_20190211_00145_20190228-224928_1
'GOD IS LIGHT IN HIM THERE IS NO DARKNESS'  "Can't you see?" the he said to me, "See what?" I asked. "That you are white washed, you are clean," then he continued "Will you give it to me?..." Totally confused by this question I asked: "What, what do you want me to give? My life? Is that the right answer?... What is it that you ask of me?". "Your darkness" he replied.  "What darkness and how do I give it? Why do you want it anyway?" He answered me after awhile "Your rejection, your sadness, your pain. I want...

The Beginning Of A New Journey

When I think of global I’m reminded of the verse John 13:45 which says “Your love for one another will prove to the world that you are my disciples.” Love abounds in the global community and this love is contagious. I already feel part of the global family and what a privilege it is. These past few days of being in Global Challenge Expeditions challenged my way of thinking.Being completely thrown out of my comfort zone and into this new place of uncertainty has brought me to a state of surrender. Since day one in global I just had to...

Finding Jesus in Simplicity

As a little girl up I always had a heart for orphans. I always wanted a career where I could help people who can’t help themselves. Be a voice for the voiceless. It was something that I wanted to do in my life.   As part of our trip to Kyrgyzstan we were planning to visit the local orphanages for disabled children. Statistically, Kyrgyzstan is one of the countries with the highest amount of orphans. Most of these kids are social orphans which means that they have at least on living parent. Parents can’t take care of their children due...
