Back to reality

IMG_20180719_225820
From the first day we arrived in the Philippines with all it's promised beauty and extraordinary adventures.. We hit the ground running from sleeping in a very small airport to taking a 36 hour ferry in a room with more than 500 beds amd not even mentioning the heat this country has to offer.    We arrived at the first venue for the parents visit with excitement and even a few nerves. What a great time this was spending time with friends and family and getting to know our fellow travellers even more, with snorkeling, scuba diving amd jumping of...

live a life of risk

5933EDC2-33BA-44A2-A9AE-7988F3C6388_20180719-024948_1
When you are rejected or life gets hard, what is your first reaction? I’ve realized mine tends to be “why me” or “when will it get better.” Recently, I have been challenged to trade my questioning for more faith- to stop and ask God for MORE BOLDNESS. Whether someone has hurt me repeatedly or what I have to say is pushed aside and rejected, I am provoked to press in and ask God to empower me with His Holy Spirit and to actually ask for MORE OF HIM. I don’t want to live a life of passivity, but one of...

Smile Turkey

IMG_20180719_060122
Turkey! Haha no, not the flightless bird, the country of course. It has the most beautiful landscapes, delightful food and rich history. We (as the 10 guys) spent some weeks on a  olive farm in Urla, Turkey, where we would have early mornings milking the sheep, fetching the eggs from the chicken coop and preparing breakfast which would normally be bread that we baked ourselves and some kind of spread like Nutella or a variety of jams. Then we would start the day of by going to the "clay pit" where we would mix clay, sand and hay into water...

The Fire

bab4767d4b8b8d0bbaab5f6bc26d5b1c
The Christian life is not a play ground it is a battle ground. My battle is not agents flesh and blood but against the spiritual enemy whom apposes me so I will draw the battle line and face my enemy with a bold determination. Even when it hits me to my knees I will not let it keep me there. I will keep on fighting keep on moving for I do not draw my strength from my body of flesh but from the spirit of God that lives inside me and still have the same power that raised Jesus from...

Deeper

I don’t know how deep the water is. I don’t know what’s underneath me. Through the murky blue I can see eery shapes in dark brown and black, but nothing more. I am trying to swim as fast as I can while still putting in the effort to appear graceful and in control.   The truth is, I am not at all in control and I am honestly really really scared. I don’t understand why I’m feeling like this.   Usually, I’m like a fish in the water. I have always loved the ocean. Its actually the one place where...

invitation of breakthrough

DEA5EFD0-50D4-4E26-860C-CC345314E737
As I walk up the steep, stone steps and look behind me at the valley I was convinced I had to make my home in, I am undone at the beauty my eyes behold. A spacious, inviting room adorned with greenery and fresh flowers in every corner- in the middle is the most beautifully set table I have ever seen. As the setting sun spilled in and lit up the room, I see a seat the has my name on it: a spot reserved and set just for me. You come and take my hand to lead me to my...

Life. Love. Live.

Screen_20170425_103914_e001
Where do I start. I haven't blogged since training and it's our 6th country on journey. But a friend, back in Jeffreys Bay, had encouraged me to blog. Driving in the back of Steve's land cruiser, listening to Jack Johnson, on our way to the Frey's home to stay there for the weekend. It's our last weekend and I don't want to say goodbye. There has been so much freedom here, so many breakthroughs. A lot of prophecy in team and unity I've never experienced in my life. Although the spiritual atmosphere was heavy. For the first time I experienced...

My experience on Global Challenge .

GCEX - Ucsa
A few days to leave the beautiful South Africa I can summarize my experience in a single word: "Amazing!!!" I carry in my heart a vision, a model and many teachings to apply in Peru and in South America. The vision applies to form leaders who serve and influence all areas of society (political, economic, social and spiritual). These leaders are formed at a young age from the school (preschool) seeking to enhance the capacities that are being developed at home with the help of their parents. They will continue to be trained through missionary training. They will make a...

How can I do anything else now?

IMG-20180515-WA0034
Israel - the promised land. The country full of history, hiking and hummus. The country of quality time with Jesus. Whereas Jordan and most other countries are mostly about the ministry although you learn a lot from it too, God gave Israel as a country just for me and Him together.   Contrasting to Jordan, the spiritual atmosphere in Israel was so light! It felt like we could breath again and walk around as girls without feeling threatened. You create this expectation that because we are now in the promised land, Jesus would just feel so much more tangible. I...

I guess we'll wing it

32152421_10216391844727633_7280749146233896960_n
So when you're traveling and don’t have a planned destination or any idea of how you're gonna get there, the best thing to do is just wing it! That’s what we did in the middle east, hitchhiking  from one place to another and sleeping in abandoned buildings and weird beaches, asking soldiers for water and eating rice with way to much salt and then with way to little salt. We were eating too much chocolates and bread (that we got from nuns) and just generally getting to know each other more, building relationship together chatting about life and living the...
