A 24 year old girl has recently discovered after years of living in "poverty" that she won the lottery at the young age of 10. She never checked her bank account to see how much she was actually entitled to. She was living like all the other people around her, according to the standards of her immediate reality. She did not realise that she was actually free from the rules she had made for herself. She was free from a life dictated by checklists that everyone around her was striving for. She had it all along but she just...

Brazil Journey It is hard to capture the journey of Brazil in a blog like this. Climbing a mountain...that sums it up pretty well. Let me add a bit of meat to that dry statement. I am going to do this in point form. #Brazil was spiritually heavy# It felt like I was on a battlefield in a spiritual war. I do not know how I can explain this. You had to be there to understand. There were days I could not sleep, because I felt like I was being watched. I had nightmares worse than my greatest fears...
Dear ones I call friends and family! Swinging from my hammock on the second deck of our rather large katamarang boat, as she vibrates her way up the Amazon river, I think of the many stories that have filled my sails in the past month. Our means of passage is so...
Adrenaline and excitement in the air as we walked onto the plane at OR Tambo International Airport. Finally. Three months of training and I thought I was prepared for anything and everything sent my way! The soft voice of Jesus saying "I am sending you" and the company of fifteen believers who will soon become family. What could possibly stand against me? But as I lay in a hammock on a boat on the Amazon River and reflect back on the last 25 days, I realize I was over confident. I had too much self confidence. Self...
Dude's. .... What a country! Caos when you get here, immediately know you are on your one. So much energy and people going fast and going big. You have to adopt to the set pace or full out. Today we leave for Phuket, thank goodness. The hundreds of kilometres on a bicycle looks more fun than the past two days In Bangkok. Personal challenges and the visa applications really took it's tall. I am so thankful that JESUS is always in control. So it is a new day, I am going to stay thankful in JESUS....
A rising sun I found glimpses shimmering on the horizen, the future Lao I found in the eyes of the nation Deep into the nation we went not yet deep in our harts it is now The music beats on and we travel to a new sun Confusing thoughts presist as the faces pass by Life here now continues as on this bench my head sadly lie. The Lao people truely touched my heart. Yes, this massive family church and their joyful way of life, amidst the oppression, touched a part of my heart I never knew I...
Loas, crazy buddhists new year, exotic food and ice coffee. This is some of the things that make Laos unique. We had the privilege to work with the youth of Loas, hosting two youth camps. Teaching English, guitar and leadership skills. Got to hear amazing testimonies and minister at a human trafficing centre. But the hidden secret was really the people of Loas. They blessed us so much. The church mostly underground went out of their way to serve us. Most of them taking annual leave to host us. The relationships we build was solid based on Jesus love. ....
It is so wonderful when JESUS shows me His love in creative and beautiful ways. We came to Laos to serve and yet these wonderfull people served us. From day one we where accepted as family. They where always ready with a new blessing. Or as it where, thy spoiled us non stop. This had me thinking, what did I really do here? Was I really a servant to my new found family? So all I could do, was pray and asked JESUS to do the work and let me see His glory. So I know JESUS did...
Loving Laos and the people. They are blessing us sooo much and showing us so much of Laos. We are trying to bless them more than they are blessing us, but I dont think it is possible. Really cool country and people. Working with the youth of the church is really inspiring and I really am touched by them. *
