PROUDLY SOUTH AFRICAN IN THE SNOWY HIMALAYAS!* Today was a new experience to a lot of us! We had the day off (it was Charmaine‘s birthday), spent about R55 and we were all off to the Himalayas to go on a bit of a hike to experience the true Himalayan experience… SNOW! An hour an a half ride through the mountains in the Indian jeeps (Mahindra) we were at our drop-off! It started raining! Now the question was… to go on this 3 hour hike in the rain to see snow, or to go back to town and sit in...

AMAZING!!

"We know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love Him and are called according to his purpose" - Romans 8:28 I defintely experienced that!! On the 23rd of december (2 weeks proir to when we had to depart) I decided and applied for Global Challenge. 28th of December I was accepted. 12 of January I arrived in Jefreys Bay. NOT KNOWING WHAT GLOBAL CHALLENGE REALLY WAS. Global challenge is a God-seeking enviroment, only for rhe glory of HIS name!! I found myself in Christ, in these past 4 weeks, still in a healing and...

Life-changing Guatemala

Life-changing Guatemala   Dear friends and family in Christ.   I want to thank you all for your continuous prayer for me and for our group!   I appreciate it so much and I don’t think we know how much of a difference prayer makes in our battle against the forces of evil.   Guatemala was a life-changing experience!   We were hosted by Ben and his congregation here in Panajachel, one of the most beautiful places I have ever been.   During day time we work at various work sites, I work at Nimmer and Jenifer’s house.   The...

Portugal, checked.

Hallo al die mooi mense.   Ek wil sommer net eerstens baie dankie se vir almal se gebede en omgee,  julle kan weet dat dit ´n huge verskil maak!   Portugal was ´n amazing experience gewees! Ons het by mense gebly van die local gemeente in Massana.  Dit is so paar kilometer buite Lisbon .  Die mense was so goed vir ons en het ons op hulle hande gedra.     Ons het Fatima gaan besoek, dit is ´n baie baie groot Rooms Katolieke Kerk.  Daar was ´n diens gewees toe ons daar was.  Die kerk glo dat Maria daar aan...

The GOD of ALL nations

Wow ! A lot can be said about what I have experienced the past 17 days relating to traveling, moving out of your comfort zone, living out of a backpack, humus and pitas, sleeping in airports, buying stuff, losing stuff and ... how God manifests himself in all of this.  Yet it is the difference in cultures that fascinates me the most. One can get so caught up in a habitual way of doing things and even be so arrogant as to think that your way is the high way, that you completely miss fundamental characteristics of the GOD of ALL nations.   This...
