Hey all our Yellow Team fans :-) A lot has happened since the last time we spoke...we pick up then where we left off! Anafora (25 Feb - 2 Mar) was loaded with some study and learning time but we also see it as a huge privilege that we had to ease into the Egyptian culture by being introduced to it in all its various forms, although secluded in the sense that we were looked after by our hosts and ot in the city as such. Great preparation for Cairo with its 26 Million (according to the locals) people living there!...

When I think of Egypt, I think my perception wasn't very realistic. This was my first experience with a society , flooded with the influence of Islam. Around every corner, there seem to be a mosk, and the Koran is easy to get by.The Egyptian pound has mosks printed on them and every morning you are woken up by the sound of someone praying to Islam. In my Wildest imagination I would never have thought that, there would be a world like this! Despite all the religious acts, there lies a nation behind it all. A people group God wants to...
Jordan - Petra I traveled along the Red Sea and adventured through the borders and I reached Jordan. Backdrops of mighty mountains flowing down into white and brown valleys of desert. My destination was the remote dead city called Petra, the most important attraction of Jordan. Petra is a secluded site of steep rocky slopes, towering, craggy mountains a mountaineers dream. Petra is a ancient city carved into solid rock. The main entrance called the Siq is hemmed in by cliffs soaring up into the blue sky. A long, deep and narrow gorge of stunning natural beauty. Passing through...
I ended my last update by saying that I am stepping out into faith this year. And trusting God to Guide my footsteps, Pro 16:9. As I am typing this I am at the Dahub Hostel Cairo watching the busyness of life pass by me. It's been two full months of Global Challenge Expeditions (GCEX) Base Camp preparation. I've watched God transform 50 young adults into a congregation ready to share the gospel of the Kingdom of Jesus Christ. As you are reading this we will be at the Red Sea sharing our stories with the locals and reflecting on...

To say goodbye My bags are almost packed, yet there is no jet plane, no taxi waiting. Just a bit of adrenaline and a lot of prayer. Oh, and don't forget - emotions running high! Tonight it will start: Explore Africa! A few weeks of training gone in the blink of an eye and then our first stop: Egypt. Was our training sufficient? Who knows? What we do know is this: we trust in God, the provider. We go in obedience. We go to spread the word of Jesus' love, of His salvation. We implore...

More than two weeks into this amazing year we are stil realizing more and more what this year is really about, and it increases our excitement!
