I have always loved aeroplanes. I remember the first time I flew (PE - Joburg) and how my eyes were glued to the window the entire flight, just marvelling in the geography lesson below that books could not teach me. Even after flying a few times I would find my neck being kind of stiff by the time that we land because I was looking through the window the entire time. wow!! I'm so stoked these past 42 days have been something else. Learning more about myself, God, the people around me and how situations can effect you when you beyond tired. I've really been blessed to be here with all these amazing people. From surviving in the freezing cold nights at our makeshift campsite with a sheltt that didn't even work and our fire being to far away from everything, all the "dear diary" entries made it just all the more funny. I am currently sitting in Colombia writing this update surrounded by sounds of a river and jungle. We are at a mission base of New Tribe Missions which is on a Finca (farm) on the outskirts of a town called Fusagasuga. What was once a place that was robbed of its life because of guerilla warfare is now a place that is filled with students and families that have all dedicated their lives to the furthering of God's Kingdom in unreached tribes in Colombia.
A 13 hour wait in the Doha airport, Qatar while waiting for our connecting flight allows for a uniquely perfect environment for the creation of new and boardum deifying games, including sock sliding and stress ball soccer. Not to mention people gazing ,which is way more interesting here and lots of time to think... Aware that this is but the first of many airport visits I decided to be productive and blog. Training ended on a high note Thursday evening and the Global Challengers of 2013 are ready to go! The Commissioning was so special - we gathered at Global Junction, with almost the entire Global Challenge community in attendance. We had a fantastic time swapping stories and memories from training while eating the mouth-watering food they prepared for us. We also received our Global Challenge gear, which really finalized it for me: I am now ready to go into the nations!
