Our time in Israel has been so rich and the change in landscapes and scenery is incredible. This was one of my highlights, the Negev Desert. It is the biggest crater in the world caused by erosion.
There's much to be said about Spain, as it is with every country we've been to thus far. The hardest part, certainly, is not being able to say it all. Words can hardly describe the experiences, the places and even more so, the people. Nevertheless, here is a foolish attempt, hoping to give you a taste of an adventure in Espanõl. 3 people. 2 barefoot. 1 mission. 0€ . About 8 hours into this mission, we're sitting at Maccas (McDonald's, place of peace #home #what's_new), eating popcorn, also +/- 300km away from our starting point in Aranjuez. It is...
I remember the hopeful goodbye we said to our team leader as we left Malaysia, on our way to a 6 week Australian visit. He had been denied his Australian visa, and therefore he could not enter with us. Global was sending a "temporary" leader to help us start our work on the sheep farms, however after his visit, we were sure that our leader would rejoin the group and lead us further, as planned. However, as with most things, God's plan was not our plans. Louw never received his visa, and before I knew it, Reinhardt's time with us...
Normal 0 false false false EN-ZA X-NONE X-NONE MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 We had a tremendously blessed time during our stay at a Convent in Bethlehem. The Nuns seemed almost as if they were angelic mothers sent from heaven to treat and care for us. They welcomed our weary travellers with a delicious warm home cooked meal , treated us daily with a surprise supply of freshly baked bread, eggs, vegetables and cooked dishes etc. as well as transformed our dirty laundry into sparkly and fresh scented garments. We truly felt like they were our heavenly mothers caring and looking after us. I...
We’re at the end of the year, and thinking of the 1st half of our travels sends a fond feeling through my heart- sort of like a parent looking at a young child and enjoying what their becoming…
We spent our time in Croatia on a farm called Camp Focus. It’s a place of anointment with beautiful green forests and hills. During our time in Croatia God provided for us, he stirred us, embraced us and equipped us. God’s presence and peace was so tangible. We had such a blessed time. We helped out at kids, family and youth camps and did some hard physical labour. The people we met were really amazing. Ex-drug addicts who are now on their knees worshipping God. 65% of their church consists out of ex-drug addicts, that’s how church should look...
Arriving in Yogyakarta, also known as Yogya, was very exciting since we were meeting up with South African friends that would join us in ministry there. Our contact in Yogya was a pastor who linked us up with a Christian school. At the school, we shared stories from the Word with the kids and also prayed for the teachers. We helped out at a food ministry going on where they prepare food for 1200 people 3 times a week! Food preparation and packaging on big scale! The school blessed us so much with food, umbrellas, t-shirts and towels! During the...
We arrived in Turkey after our time in Jordan on our way to meet up with Esther. The month in Turkey consisted of two days in Istanbul, two weeks in Kusidasi, a week on the road and then a week in Cappadocia. Turkey started with a bang! The first day in Istanbul was an amazing experience; we had a treasure hunt*...and we found treasure for sure. Lisa and Arne met a guy that we could encourage and that really inspired us; hopefully we can see him again before we fly out of Istanbul. Through meeting this guy I realised that...
God, thank you for yet another day. Thank you for how you bless and love ME, thank you for MY family and friends. Please be with ME today, lead ME, guide ME and give ME strength. I pray for MY family and friends, please bless them and may they love You. (Because that would make MY life easier) God, please provide for MY every need and protect ME from any and all evil. Thank you Jesus, I love You. Amen. This is more or less how my everyday prayers sound. Notice all the I, ME and MY's? When was the...
