The beginnings of Explore Africa part 5

As part of training however we decided to take all the expeditions to Egypt first. In 2009 there were only three expeditions: Explore Africa, Northbound (focusing more on Northern Hemisphere countries) and Southbound (focussing more on Southern Hemisphere countries). It was a good idea to conduct further training outside of South Africa. It helped me to get to know how my team reacts in a foreign country without the burden of logistics. I also had more personal time to adequately prepare myself spiritually for the year ahead.   However the cross-over from a few logistical responsibilities to the full brunt...

Thailand Sport Ministry

Thailand Sport Ministry
In Phuket Thailand I can see the monthly growth in sport. All kinds of sport is picking up, and aspecially running and cycling.   Part of my ministry here in Thailand is sport. I am working together with the organizer of a running club, which involves children from 5 to 70 years old ! Training every day and competing almost once a week. Up to now I was able to help with transporting athletes and sponsoring some running shoes to children who needed it. This ministry is very good in helping children to get involve in sport, fitness and competing....

This country that you love - a poem

A poem describing how I experienced China:

By Elizma Myburgh

I give to you once more, o Lord
This country that you love
For all their sins you gave your life
For me to give was tough

I do remember when we prayed
We asked but for your way
I do remember my own pride
"I'll do just what you say"

But I fell short, and I lost hope
Seeking comfort of my own
You had to come, remind again
Restore in me your love

Training goes on...

"Burn the Ships"

"Burn the ships" that is what explorer Cortez ordered his men to do upon arrival to the New found territory of Mexico. Without a fleet to return home upon, the leader and his men were forced to move forward and would no longer be tempted by retreat.

China-Northbound

China-Northbound
Coming from Tropical Islands to China-Beijing is quite a shock, it’s hugely different! And I suddenly longed for the small town life I was so familiar with. But the time in China was unique; it was a stage of growth, learning, pondering and experience. Sometimes it’s difficult far from home but I know God’s purpose is far greater than I can imagine. We went to the Tibetan region for our ministry points and we met up with some amazing men and woman of God who gave up their lives back home to follow Christ. One particular guy had the potential...
