We were in Cuba for 23 days. We arrived at Havanna, spent 3 days there to do our visas (which is a testimony in itself), and then got on a truckbus to Santiago for 13 hours. We spent our time here working with the people of GlaDios, working in a garden, painting the church tower, moving rocks, and spending time with the locals. (Spending time with the locals is probably what makes Global so much cooler than only traveling.) One night we heard about a youth meeting at a church. We decided to go. I was prepared to sit and...

"Sometimes you find yourself in the middle of nowhere, and sometimes in the middle of nowhere, you find yourself." Now, in case you have the idea that this is about me finding myself, that's funny. I simply felt this quote to be appropriate with regard to the experience we recently had in Egypt. We were there for 2 weeks of which we spent 2 days in Cairo, indulging in the ancient mysteries, and avocado and mango juice, in regular intervals. The remainder of our time we spent at Anafora. 'This place is weird.' Weird in the sense...
There's much to be said about Spain, as it is with every country we've been to thus far. The hardest part, certainly, is not being able to say it all. Words can hardly describe the experiences, the places and even more so, the people. Nevertheless, here is a foolish attempt, hoping to give you a taste of an adventure in Espanõl. 3 people. 2 barefoot. 1 mission. 0€ . About 8 hours into this mission, we're sitting at Maccas (McDonald's, place of peace #home #what's_new), eating popcorn, also +/- 300km away from our starting point in Aranjuez. It is...
My Journey through Israel and Palestine opened my eyes to many new things. We saw places I have read about all mt life in the bible, I met people from all walks of life. Tasted food and flavour combinations I had never imagined before. I saw old testiment stories pointing toJesus. I gained insight in Judaism and Islam. Most profoundly I experienced God calling me DEEPER, Not only to learn more or new things but to come DEEPER. I have always heard this from other people and many people prayed it over me, but there is nothing like experiencing...
Our time in Israel has been so rich and the change in landscapes and scenery is incredible. This was one of my highlights, the Negev Desert. It is the biggest crater in the world caused by erosion.
Oh Israel the Lord has spoken! It's time to come back home!! After one month in Isreal and this being the most adventures time of my life.. Looking back now sitting at the airport again... on the sabbath again... luckily we learned now that you don't get public transport on this day and being more prepared I look back and all that comes to mind is this song from United Persuit Hidden: There was one when I was young Who knew my heart He knew my sorrow He held my hand And he lead me to trust him...
The last day in Isreal. My time here was to be with Jesus just to experience him in a new way he is the one that was leading us to places wen we did not know where to go. The whole mouth with God in the Holy Land
Ha! Got you to open my blog. While your here you might as well read a bit furher. The Hidden World team has been in Israel for 29 days. It's been fun, rough, tough and blessed. We are leaving tomorrow to the airport, sleeping there and leaving early Saturday morning to Russia. We went across the whole of Israel. We've been north, east, south and west. We were at the Sea of Galilee, Red Sea and Dead Sea a d Mediterranean Sea. We walked, took busses, taxis and hitchiked to places. We bought food, got food given to us and...
The market of Marrakech. The brawl of the barter and triumph in the trade Searching for gems, the only honest crave In between alleys buzzing with scooters Swerving the peoples, hustling like looters Crafty leather, a most distinguished scent Local delicacies rousing, how can one neglect The authenticity and atmosphere of market Marrakech, Though Bursting and striving, still longing to express The rainbow within that will not show in part An honest expression of only a colorful heart. Fes: A game of shadows. Veltie has done it again. This time 'round, there is more to it...
-What a disaster! Or to state it rather in a more positive light, what a leap of faith! Landing in Israel on a Saturday morning without any public transportation and with all the supermarkets closed, wasn’t a breeze. We caught cars to take us up to Tiberias at the Sea of Galilee and arrived in groups of 2's and 3's at the McDonald’s which was also closed to our disappointment. After a few hours of chasing after the wind to find a place to sleep (camp) we ended up taking a taxi to the southern part of the sea and...
