I made a video of my Sao Paulo, but have trouble uploading so you will need to wait a bit for that update. Sao Paulo Airport experience: The flight from Sao Paulo was very early and the airport far out of the city and this meant that we had to sleep the night in the airport. This was the teams first sleep in airport experience (but not the last). At about 2 am 2 guys from Chile ended up at our corner looking for help. Since Luiza in our team is from Brazil she offered her help and I went...

Plans Change, He Stays The Same

How blessed are we to serve to a God of mysteries. Not only does it keep things interesting (to say the least), but it teaches us to constantly surrender all our worries over to him and trust Him with it all .   We had such favor at the Macedonian Embassy in the first week of our stay in Turkey whilst applying for our visas, we were sure they would be approved.    Lesson 1 - do not rest your trust in things of this earth.   When returning to the embassy 2 weeks later (on Tuesday the 22 March),...

Entering the promised land.....(China)

Entering the promised land.....(China)
The Great Wall Ready, set, take off.......Many people asked me before leaving, am I ready, how do I feel, am I excited?? Waiting for 6 years or more, to enter the promise of China on a  long term/full time basis and now becoming a reality. The answer was mixed. The familiar feeling of I'm leaving what I know and the people I know, to the unknown. The mixed feelings of excitement and I can't believe I'm doing this...the dream becoming a reality!  That's where the step of faith comes in. We discover by experience and at first hand. And Him...

“Nie Hou” everyone!

So, we arrived in Hong Kong, missing 6 hours of sleep! Tired but very exited! The landscape is very beautiful and everything is very clean! 6 Of our group went to a village nearby to paint some center and the rest stayed in Hong Kong. The public transport is good and we were so surprised when we arrived at Sing Mun Springs. It is nice and well organized.   For you guys at home who know me will not be surprised that I already had my first shopping experience – NOT clothes, but food for breakfast and lunch for the...

www.biblestudy.com

We often hear and use these words: "The world is a small place." But just how small is it? Small enough for all of us to understand the same language? Definitely. Even though you may need the help of Google here and there! I had the most amazing experience during a bible study gathering. We were seven Afrikaans girls and four Spanish guys. We had a bible study theme to work through and to discuss. One problem: they don't speak much English and we don't speak much Spanish. After a few minutes of trying to translate and to understand what...

Finding God in London

Finding God in London
I saw the Tower Bridge lift and heard the Big Ben sound. I saw Trafalgar, Westminster and Hyde Park ... places only heard about in movies and newspapers - "MUST visits". I saw castles, shops and had so many options of places to visit that I couldn't pick one! I thought that's what London was about, and that's the kind of stuff I'm gonna tell at the end of it. Come to think of it, I didn't really think it was the kind of place where you're gonna see the God of the Bible alive and working -...

How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news...

How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news...
Closing the chapter on Brazil and opening up to Colombia.  From building relationships to digging holes.  Global Challenge will make you do it all!  I love it!      We stayed over one night in Bogota, with some of the missionaries, Mark and Joyce.  Lovely couple from America.  They work with the Indian tribes, there are about 65 different tribes, learning their language and culture and then sharing the gospel with them.  It takes about 5 or 6 years to learn their language.  Translating the bible can take anything from 15 years (for the New Testament alone) to 52 years...
