Pray for India, Pray for India

Pray for India, Pray for India
Namaste from India. We've been working for almost a week in Emmanuel childrens home in Kota, India.  We are restoring an old hostel/ home that has been neglected.  It's taking a lot of sweat (42-48 degree climate) and early mornings ( 5'0 clock) and lots of strength.  We LOVE what we are doing here but the biggest situation is just that we would like to treat the kids with a nice meal but don't have the funds to support our idea. We need R10 00o to give this children a nice meal with some chicken and maybe a treat. There...

Global Challenge - A one year marriage contract...

First off I would like to give thanks to God for this massive privilege of being able to be part of this journey and have the opportunity to serve Him!  It is purely out of His grace that I am here and through His grace that I have the opportunity see and experience a small part of the world and what it has to offer.   Nothing can prepare you though for what you are about to undertake when you sign up.  You get to Jeffrey's in January full of expectation and excitement about what the year has installed for...

Indescribable...

To describe the odours, visuals, sounds and tastes of India would keep me busy for the rest of my life, however when I am faced with the question, what did I feel in India, there are no words to describe.

WHAT IF???

Written by: Mari Jansen van Rensburg   You always think "what if", what if I've taken that trip, what if I'd only said yes. At the beginning of Global Challenge I had the same question - but God didn't wait on me to be ready - He just came and did what I didn't think would be possible. He changed my life, inside out!!!!   I grew up in a christian home and for that I am very grateful. But more than ever He is just revealing Himself to me in so many ways. I am going to share one...

Esron Village

vill.jpgIt's Thursday, February 28, 2008, 13:00. The eggplant, nshima, kapentas and beans are in the pots. Slowly but surely our traditional Zambian lunch is coming togeter. Sitting round the brazier, comparing the way food is prepared in different countries, and, even though Reynard is still "bang vir die vissies!" we're wondering whether those in the neighbouring huts will have anything more than a piece of corn/ maize to eat today.

To Say Goodbye

To say goodbye   My bags are almost packed, yet there is no jet plane, no taxi waiting.  Just a bit of adrenaline and a lot of prayer.  Oh, and don't forget - emotions running high!   Tonight it will start:  Explore Africa!  A few weeks of training gone in the blink of an eye and then our first stop:  Egypt.   Was our training sufficient?  Who knows?  What we do know is this:  we trust in God, the provider.  We go in obedience.  We go to spread the word of Jesus' love, of His salvation.     We implore...
