Where to begin... I guess if I’m truly honest with myself and everyone who will read this I’ll start off with this: Never in my life have I thought there’s so much off myself I need to discover. Off God and His Word, yes, but myself, after 28 years... not a chance! As soon as the first day it was clear that my comfort zone was something of the past and I was challenged to be with a group of people every minute of the day... totally transparent and open to talk and pray about anything that might hinder my...

Psalm 139:1-18 O Lord, you have examined my heart and know everything about me. (2) You know when I sit down or stand up. You know my thoughts even when I’m far away. (3) You see me when I travel and rest at home. You know everything I do. (4) You know what I am going to say even before I say it, Lord. (5) You go before me and follow me. You place your hand of blessing on my head. (6) Such knowledge is too wonderful for me, too great for me to understand! (7) I can never escape...
Finally the time came for the three different expeditions to each depart on their own adventures. Our first destination was of course Casablanca, Morocco, from where we would start making our way down to Cameroon in Central Africa. Along the way we would make longer stops to serve missionaries in Senegal, Mali, Niger, Nigeria and Cameroon. From Nigeria we flew horizontally across Africa to Addis Ababa, Ethiopia from where we continued on our southward journey to South Africa. Our introduction into Morocco was hectic. After flying through the night we were looking forward to some rest at our...
“ Blessed are they that keep His testimonies, and seek Him with their whole heart ”. This is a testimony of a group of young men seeking God and the blessings they have experienced. We really learned a lot of valuable biblical knowledge in training and none of us could wait to start using this knowledge and putting into practice what we learned. Little did we know that training was just a hint of what was to come... God wanted to teach us so much more! Going to London you could say as far as our planning we had no...
We just arrived in a small village, far from any regular tourist attractions. While boarding the train we already felt it was different, when the train staff come to see if these foreigners have got onto the right train. We might have appeared a bit lost. The man behind me (next to Wayne) was very friendly and helpful. When we stepped onto the platform, I felt like a animal at the circus. Some people stopped and stared, others were cheering, while some others tried in their best english to greet us, "Welcome to Egypt!", "Where you from?"...
God has a voice. What does God sound like? How does His voice sound? When and how does He speak? God is the creator of all things. This is a question that I’ve had all my life. What does God sound like when He speaks? Is His voice gentle like a father speaking to his children or does His voice sound like thunder when he is mad? Does He have a deep sounding voice or just a normal speaking voice or does He have an accent like I do when I speak in a different language. For long I was...

Throwing his shoe he jumped back at the sight of a spider, the size of his hand. This was not just any spider but a spider that when bitten makes the inside of your body burn, poison spreading throughout it. This actually really happened at the beginning of our time in Zambia to Wayne, our team leader. It really is a miracle that he didn’t get bit, but to me it is also something that really reflects the time in Zambia and brings together something I have learned and seen this year, in so many ways. As we took...
We often hear and use these words: "The world is a small place." But just how small is it? Small enough for all of us to understand the same language? Definitely. Even though you may need the help of Google here and there! I had the most amazing experience during a bible study gathering. We were seven Afrikaans girls and four Spanish guys. We had a bible study theme to work through and to discuss. One problem: they don't speak much English and we don't speak much Spanish. After a few minutes of trying to translate and to understand what...
