Once I heard someone say these words but I did not understand them. I decided to travel to South Africa with other people. However, during that long trip, a friend asked me: "Are you afraid?" and I said: "I think so, in fact, I do not know what is going to happen in that country but there we go". He answered me saying: "Do not worry, I'm with you, just trust me." That friend made me feel sure, his name is Jesus, yes, the Son of God, the same one who gave me the TRUST to start a new stage...

Hello everyone ! Here am I again with some news of my journey ! I'm writing you from a bus, we are on our way to Peru ! We are driving from Bogota to Chiclayo, a trip of more or less 50 hour ! We left Colombia after 40 days in the country, one of our longest stay ! But luckily we were not just in the same ministry place every time... We stayed a bit in Bogota, then Cartagena, Santa Marta and Fusagasuga ! Let me resume each stay separately : Bogota and Cartagena : We arrived on the...
Frankfort Echo Farm in the Free State was a jol ! Our team served there for two weeks and it was incredible to contribute to something way bigger than ourselves. The farm is almost entirely off grid, which meant no signal (unless you walk a few kilo’s to a random bush at the top op the farm), no electricity, rats and bats as roommates and often lekker cold showers. Oh yeah, now that’s what I’m talking about ! In between the dirty feet, callused hands and a little sunburn, I really experienced true freedom. Our team is closer now than...
This sentence is gonna sound a bit like a contradiction to the previous blog I posted about the beauty of weakness but bare with me for a moment and you will see how it fits in together. The world teaches us that vulnerability equals weakness but actually vulnerability equals beautiful strength. It is much more difficult to be vulnerable and honest about how you feel than not. It is when we are real and share the rawness of what is really going on in our heart, that takes so much boldness and courage. Since Jesus have taught me about...
After about 7 weeks of training in Jbay where I was challenged not only spiritually but also physically and emotionally, we started our journey. Ready to step out in the army of God, ready to be obedient to Him, ready to be spiritually led, we arrived in Kenya. Suddenly I didn't feel so ready any more- the practical side seemed more easier said than done. I struggled to understand what my place/role in the team was, doing this for a whole year overwhelmed me a bit and totally out of my comfort zone isn't always an easy place to be...
Have you ever come on anything quite like this extravagant generosity of God, this deep, deep wisdom? It's way over our heads. We'll never figure it out.
Is there anyone around who can explain God?
Anyone smart enough to tell Him what to do?
Anyone who has done Him such a huge favour
that God has to ask his advice?
Its early hours in the day, sitting on a hill, on a flat rock bed, I can see the sun slowly rising on the horizon and my whole being is filled with a peace and an excitement for the day. What a blessing it was to have stayed on the beautiful farm! I exchanged my shoes and the paved paths for dirty feet and a dusty brown dirt road. And during that simple but joyful time I realized just how deeply the love of Abba Father runs, whether it was in the gentle breeze on a hot day, the breathtaking...
We humans have very little moments where we feel totally completed. Totally satisfied with where we are or what we are doing with our lives, Cuba is no different - here people dream about travelling and doing all the things their Communist country does not allow them to, therefore moments like these should be written about. This is one of those moments. I am sitting on the back of what might seem like a cattle truck (Cuban taxi) on our way back from giving word at the Cuban seminary. Tonight I sit in total content with a smile on my...
Our first trip as a group...destination...Dar Es Salaam. We arrived at 04:00 and opted for a snooze on the airport...which is actually a pretty cool roof with a bunch of merchants snuggled under it. We rolled out the sleeping bags and slept like babies at the back of an adventure shop thing. Our travel teams soon became pro at bargaining. So here we are in Legho Hotel in the heart of this bustling city filled with friendly people. We had supper on the roof with a panoramic view of the city. We officially are backpackers on a mission. It creates...
Our team split up in groups of 3, went into the streets of Singapore and shared the love of Jesus. What a privilege to explore beautiful Singapore in this way. We went with the bare necessaties and trusted God for the rest! I'm not going to lie- It was definitely very challenging as we found that some people were very closed and cold toward us. 😬 I've learned a valuable lesson in the few days we spent in Singapore, after complaining to God about being uncomfortable while sharing the Good News.. God loves us soooo much and so deeply...
