Hello everyone. So here we go again, but this time I want to tell all of you something that touched my heart ( yeah yeah I know, I always say that!!). In this eighth blog of mine you are most likely going to learn things about me that you didn’t know ( it is not serious deep stuff don’t worry that's for a later blog. ) and there will be things you do know about me. Okay so here we go. I love music, like really I LOVE IT. If I see a piano I freak out ( on the...

Coffee Capital

The time has come for us, with much expectation, to head to the coffee capital of the world, and we werent dissapointed.     It started of with so much excitement of seeing the parents on their visit, eating sweets and biltong, receiving gifts and letters of encouragements for us to finish the journey strong. There is something comforting receiving rusks with a note in your mothers handwriting.     Colombia has been a time of reflecting on the year thus far, what I have learned, refocusing on the journey and not letting my thoughts drift back home, re evaluating...

Not a lot to say

IMG-20180902-WA0002
When I look around, al I see is people walking around in chaos...nowhere. There is a strange feeling to a place where disaster have struck, leaving people with little to nothing hope. Kind of makes you think, you know... about what you have, what is truly necessary and what if something like this happens to my family? Will God allow that?  If He does, will He give us new hope?  Will I still praise God in that storm? I've had a few questions and things to think about this last couple of weeks. But what I've realised is that, spending...

Guyana

Suriname and Guyana... Personal journey. Suriname Culture... It was difficult to accept the culture. There was a lot of dancing, shouting, loud music, screaming and emotional expressions. I struggled not to judge somethings I did not understand. It was just different. God challenged me to love those that differ from me. To love them even if we disagree sometimes. I found myself submitting my judgemental thoughts under God more and more. Authority... It was a battle, that is all I can say... Submitting your thoughts and ideas under Authority is a humble act, that is for sure. I disagreed with...

Quitting now...

IMG-20180703-WA0074
Quitting now would take me right back to where I started, and when I started I was desperate to be where I am now... All my life I believed the lie that I don't know what feelings are and that indifference is my only reality. Never did I feel comfortable enough with people to truly trust. Looking back now I realize that I did not just shatter my own heart but I deeply hurt those who truly cared. Most of all I closed the door, window and all entry ways for Jesus. I only allowed Him in when things were...

God Knows Better

Stepping into Panama, I became accutely aware of what it takes for my lungs to inhale for long enough that sufficiant amounts of air may enter my body. And now, after my visit in Panama, I realize, this is how dependant we must be on God's Love. Not only God's Love for ourselves, but more importantly, God's Love IN us, to freely give to others.

The chronicals of Marton Thailand

Thailand   In ordinary life we hardly realize that we receive a great deal more than we give, and that it is only with gratitude that life becomes rich.   I am sitting on a bus travelling through Thailand, it is around  7 am . The sun is just starting to peak out from behind the mountain. Suddenly I realize and become thankful that I am not travelling with random people or friends - this is family travelling together. If I had to look back over the past 2 weeks, from where we left Bangkok with our bicycles, to where we...

Home

Home, is where I want to be, but I guess I'm already there. - Jerusalem, Israel. March 2016   Where better to start a spirit-led/filled journey than in Israel? The heart of where our freedom, once foretold, now forever living in and through us. Considering the year journey that is ahead and the preparation we have already been through, I stood in awe at the panoramic view that would be ours for the next 3 days and nights. Old City Jerusalem, you beauty. On the rooftop of the Citadel Hostel, we pitched our tents. I couldn't think of a...

Exodus 33:3

I could not shake the feeling of how awesome Israel was, the whole place is almost build out of limestone that is "alive" and truly I say on to you it makes the place look alive! We worked a bit in a garden where God showed me to bring salvation to men is like plucking out roots of weets and cleaning leaves. After every leave wave which is sin you descover môre roots of weets that is the very start of sin and then you pluck them out with the roots. I thoroughly cleaned a area of 10×4m and it...
