"I sought to hear the voice of God and climbed the topmost steeple, but God declared: Go down again - I dwell among the people" - John Henry Newman Hearing God's voice is what this year is all about. When we were sent out on our journey, the same way the Lord sent the 72 dissiples out in Luke 10. With no money, no travelers bag or an extra pair of sandels. The part of listening and recognising God's voice was set on the test for me. Firstly I learned that practice is needed to recognise God's voice. I can't...

Have you ever come on anything quite like this extravagant generosity of God, this deep, deep wisdom? It's way over our heads. We'll never figure it out.
Is there anyone around who can explain God?
Anyone smart enough to tell Him what to do?
Anyone who has done Him such a huge favour
that God has to ask his advice?
17 Days in India went by so quickly. Beautiful kids and a friendly host at the orphanage where we stayed. We decided to repaint the orphanage and to buy something for the children, but we didn't have any money. We needed R25 000 for this project. So we started this project by faith ! Faith that God will provide. Then the provision began. We got blessed with sandpaper and scrapers, 5000 Rupees less for the paint we needed , we payed 10 000 Rupees instead of 20 000 Rupees for the cement and 2 000 Rupees less for the...
Wow wow wow ! To me this two weeks were all about learning more about faith. I had a few prophecies about me being a woman of faith and, oh, how God started to establish faith in my life and He is still busy and will always be! God will always provide, even in the small things, even in your desires. For example, we craved chocolates, juice, bread, ice cream and cookies, THEN a lady came and gave us a bag full of everything we wanted. Amazing ! I've learned to see God's hand in everything. There is definitely a...
6 weeks ago my family and friends asked if I was ready and my answer: YES of course. I bought a new headlight which is now lost and a two man kids, green tent which I have discovered is not waterproof. 1 week of training left and now I know I'm not ready. I've realized though that God didn't call me to be ready but willing. I am just in awe that God has chosen me to be a prologue in his story of pursuit for a nation. So ready or not, Jesus is starting a love revival in the hearts...
"For as we have many members in one body, but all the members do not have the same function, so we, being many, are one body in Christ, and individually members of one another.” Romans 12:4-5 NKJV In Nepal Jesus took each of us as individual members of this family on an individual and personal journey. Each one of us as members of the body, unique and different had something else to learn in order to make the body as a whole stronger. This was a country with many memories, miracles and messages. For many of the team it was...
I used to think that to expand the Kingdom, I have to reach as many people as possible, but now I know that it is much more effective( and more the Jesus way) to disciple people in such a way that they can disciple faithful people who can disciple others. Did you know that if a single head of wheat is left to reproduce in the perfect conditions for 7 years, it will feed the entire world population for a whole year? Is possible for the church to multiply like this head of wheat? I just don't think Jesus is...
Every once in a while, actually quite often I am brought to a halt, a complete standstill in awe of our Creator and of His creation. A cold night sleeping on the airport, He is there! Midnight running through mud in Kenya, a bucket shower for two to share, Selenge the eland is around somewhere but He is everywhere. Important to remember, but so easy to forget our Father is good and He always remains fair. I used to think that the only way to learn is when a teacher is standing in front of a blackboard, but now I...
The two weeks in Laos was a bit different than what I expected. The day when we entered Laos, an old man asked me the date, while we were all filling in our forms to cross the boarder. Little did I know that this old man is about to spend the following two weeks with us... A week before we came to Laos, he wanted to go through the gates, but they didn't let him in, so he waited patiently on God to tell him when to go again. So he chose the same day and time as us. God...
My outlook on hosting people will never be the same. During our stay in brasil we were reguraly confronted with the awkward situation of random people that didnt speak our language, and have nothing in common, but still will take us into their homes, feed us, spoil us and didnt want anything in return. In some situations we even received money. We soon just came to the conclusion that the only common grounds we had were Jesus, that in itself was enough. So often we try to do so much and feel dissatisfied if we did not achieve all we...
