I arrived in Fiji with a big excitement. It is an excitement placed in me very early this year when our journey started. The island vibe hits you the minute you leave the plane whith the local band welcomes you with a lively island tune. We got on a two and a half hour drive to labasa. We joined the YWAM base there and we where welcomed with joy. We pitched our tents and settled in. The next day our work started, and we took on our Daly task with joy and fellowship with the students and staff...

Good day! Jerusalem was beautiful and it was special to see where Jesus was, but I honestly enjoyed Bethlehem, on the other side of the wall, more. At both stops, we did a lot of gardening. Goodness, I never thought there could be so many metaphors with pulling out roots of weeds. I started dreaming about it even. Luckily I love gardening and find it to be therapeutic. In Bethlehem we lived with three stunning nuns, who changed my pre-conceived idea about nuns. At all of the ministry points we have gone so far there have been extremely effective women....
Suriname and Guyana... Personal journey. Suriname Culture... It was difficult to accept the culture. There was a lot of dancing, shouting, loud music, screaming and emotional expressions. I struggled not to judge somethings I did not understand. It was just different. God challenged me to love those that differ from me. To love them even if we disagree sometimes. I found myself submitting my judgemental thoughts under God more and more. Authority... It was a battle, that is all I can say... Submitting your thoughts and ideas under Authority is a humble act, that is for sure. I disagreed with...
"I sought to hear the voice of God and climbed the topmost steeple, but God declared: Go down again - I dwell among the people" - John Henry Newman Hearing God's voice is what this year is all about. When we were sent out on our journey, the same way the Lord sent the 72 dissiples out in Luke 10. With no money, no travelers bag or an extra pair of sandels. The part of listening and recognising God's voice was set on the test for me. Firstly I learned that practice is needed to recognise God's voice. I can't...
This blog is going to be one of the most difficult blogs to wright. We have seen so much and Gods work is everywhere and every day. I don’t know what to write, so let start with some background info. We left Canada after we had a TV interview, which will air in June or July. We landed in France and went back to London. We saw the queen, that was unexpected and then on to Jordan. It is a fun place to stay for the 2 days. The best thing was going to Petra! It is amazing! I didn’t...
So some news about the amazing country of Indonesia!! I dont really know where to begin, our time in Yogya was truly blessed and so amazing. We met up with a pastor that the previous year's team met by prayer walking through the streets as they pioneered the country. We were also privileged to have the leader of one of last years team join us for our time in yogya. Yogyakarta is situated on the island of Java and is seen as the spiritual capital of Indonesia. The country is mainly muslim and every morning and afternoon you...
weeks??? Why so fast??? Can we come back??? The rime spent in the Middle East has been spectacular! God is showing us his heart for these people. Visits, distribution; gas, pillows, stoves. How can people that need so much basic resources bless us so much???? With peace, joy, love and kindness and a lot of tea. My heart is filled with joy and hope for the rest of the year. Even though you may think that you know something, God always has something to teach us. There's nothing better than to just sit at His feet and listen. Bringing hope...
17 Days in India went by so quickly. Beautiful kids and a friendly host at the orphanage where we stayed. We decided to repaint the orphanage and to buy something for the children, but we didn't have any money. We needed R25 000 for this project. So we started this project by faith ! Faith that God will provide. Then the provision began. We got blessed with sandpaper and scrapers, 5000 Rupees less for the paint we needed , we payed 10 000 Rupees instead of 20 000 Rupees for the cement and 2 000 Rupees less for the...
Its so true when they say "in those tough times, thats when you learn the most". Beautiful Philippines? heartbreaking Philippines!!! Getting to Philippines I had such a big expectation about what God is going to do. It turned out to be the hardest part of my journey so far. And only now after leaving I realize how much I've learned. I started my learning journey in January 2013... Knowing God, being a Christian. That's enough, isn't it? Never again will I be satisfied with that little! And this is the message we shared to so many people in Philippines...
The two weeks in Laos was a bit different than what I expected. The day when we entered Laos, an old man asked me the date, while we were all filling in our forms to cross the boarder. Little did I know that this old man is about to spend the following two weeks with us... A week before we came to Laos, he wanted to go through the gates, but they didn't let him in, so he waited patiently on God to tell him when to go again. So he chose the same day and time as us. God...
