GODS HEALING HANDS

In April 2003 I was diagnosed with something called Endometriosis.  Doctors told met that the condition can be controled with the pill or hormone injections - but not cured.  I had the operation to remove the growth that was there and took the pill to control my hormones.  My hormones were too strong for the pill and it only worsened the conditoion rather than helping. The sypmtoms that I experienced were extreme pain and discomfort during mentruation, excessive bleeding, irregularity and spotting.  ( And then as the condition progressed - the possibility of partial to total dystruction of the ovaries...

First 5 weeks of training - South Africa

First 5 weeks of training - South Africa
"Here are my servants, whom I uphold, my chosen ones in whom I delight; I will put my Spirit on them and they will bring justice to the nations." - Isaiah 42:1 (plural added)   The Lord has been preparing his servants in powerful ways these last five weeks. Listening to teachings, practically serving at the primary school, creating projects and working in our teams have brought all of us closer to the heart of Jesus as we are being empowered to bring the good news of salvation with healed hearts and in power and love to the nations. The...

Amazing grace

Amazing grace
This is two of the words that's constantly in my mind and heart during a year like this. BUT this is exactly what my life has been up to now.   It is out of amazing grace that God has chose to send me into the nations - to change my life and peoples' lives around me. I want to share one story on this...   In Luke 10 God sends out His disciples to go and bless people in the ordinary walk of life and this time was no different.   We (the blue team) asked God to show...

Pokhara - The jewel in the Himalaya

Pokhara - The jewel in the Himalaya
While our first week in Nepal we focused on encouraging the churches, the second week we focused on adding to them. After a six hour bus ride to Pokhara we immediately started walking to unreached villages, sharing the truth with the people and handing out tracts written in Nepali. We had some great conversations and people were usually willing to listen to us. God really protected us there because after we got back Ben (The Nepali missionary we stayed with) told us that the people in those villages usually attack Christians and he had been too scared to go until now....

I like to eat "pap" with my hands

Time to cook!Food in Zambia is the best!!!!! When we speak about food, or think about food, we say.....

We really like our traditional food alot! We love "boerewors en pap", or, "macaroni en kaas", or "braaivleis and coke",
but here we had to adapt to their eating styles and food.
We have "slap pap& quot; or oats in the morning, with coffee. In the afternoon we eat fish or kapentas or beans with mshema.
That really was a challenge at the beginning, but after a few weeks in Zambia we have adapted to their food and ways.

Following Jesus?

Following Jesus?
Following Jesus? I am currently in India together with the rest of the work Your way team. Apart from enjoying the absolute innocent love I’m receiving from the children at the orphanage and working hard on a water reservoir we are building for the orphanage and just experiencing the incredible India in so many different ways. From going to watch IPL to experiencing the scorching Indian sun, getting eaten alive by mosquitoes at night, seeing the Taj Mahal, shaking my head sideways like the Indians do, spending time with Indians who have a hunger for Christ and also with...
