Indescribable India

Indescribable India
You need faith for this... "A" for away but also "A" for AMAZING! As northbound we had a challenging project to complete within 14days. As soon as we got to the orphanage in India, our ministry started... Our projects include children's ministry and transform the physical appearance of the orphanage by scraping, sanding and painting the walls.  We prayed for R25 000 to complete the project and bless the children. God miraculously provided R14 900! He also led a Hindi business man to give us R1100 discount on materials we needed, as well as sandpaper for free when he heard...

The Foundation that will stand the test of fire

The Foundation that will stand the test of fire
" By the grace God has given me, I laid a foundation as an expert builder, and someone else is building on it. But each one should be careful how he builds. For no one can lay any foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ. If any man builds on this foundation using gold, silver, costly stones, wood, hay or straw, his work will be shown for what it is, because the Day will bring it to light. It will be revealed with fire, and the fire will test the quality of each man's...

ADVENTURE IS KNOCKING ON MY DOOR

Adventure is knocking at my door and it is almost time to respond by flinging this little door of mine wide open. Reflecting back on the past six weeks of training I am humbled by the grace of God and His undeniable faithfulness. What a journey it has been thus far, an adventure in itself. So far I have enjoyed every moment with my team, volunteers and leaders (even the less favorable ones like being out in the elements or walking barefoot for several hours). The Transkei brought along rain showers and plenty of learning opportunities. From Kids Ministry, painting,...

Beautiful New Zealand

Beautiful New Zealand
We have the privelege of visiting the beautiful country of New Zealand for 2 weeks. It is very cold here but we are not complaining after the heat from India. The rain and wind reminds me of the typical Cape winters we use to have back in South Africa.    We spend the first week at Snells Beach  and had a time of debrief and rest.I can assure you, we enjoyed that a lot. We are staying with Host-parents during our time in Auckland and it is wonderful to visit my family from last year again. During the past week we helped...

Have you ever felt like you just needed a little bit of encouragement? Today was one of those days for me... I was walking the streets of Nepal wondering if all these foreingers are searching for something, as I was searching for Christian Fellowship outside of South Bound - someone just to encourage me for the rest of the year...  and... As i walked into the Crazy Burger Cafe and ordered a Banana Milkshake I sat down next to a friendly couple who seemed diffirent than the rest of the foreigners - they were enjoying life. As they were getting...

Greeting the old and embracing the new!

It’s hard to put all the emotions I feel into words.  After 2 years of travelling with Global Challenge Expeditions, seeing the most amazing views, meeting the most amazing people, getting to know myself and seeing and feeling God at work… I am back home. The past month or so I have had all these feelings of elation to be back in the country I love with the people I love, but then I also experience the longing for the open road, adventure, the thrill of the unknown, the joys of living as a part of a tight-knit brotherhood and...

Call to following my loving Dad

A different divine India

It has been a remarkable experience so far.

As soon as we got off the train in New Delhi, India hit me with revolting smells, a very dirty place, and people spitting everywhere and urinating on the streets. For me it was chaos, dodging “tuk tuk’s” and scooters with hooters going off around me constantly. My first thoughts were “God please increase my boldness.”  Culture shock and all we found a nice little hotel to stay in for 2 days and as soon as we were settled in, we went exploring. My view began to change as we walked through the market with all its multicolours and very friendly people.  I had quite an enjoyable time.

FIND YOURSELF IN THIS PHOTO!!

FIND YOURSELF IN THIS PHOTO!!
God has been so faithful over the past few weeks, that I can do nothing else but to honour and glorify His name!! It is because of Him, His plans and His calling that some of the finest young people in the world have decided to surrender their lives to Him...  I am reminded of the verse in 2 Corinthians 5 which reads:   "... those who live, should live no longer for themselves, but for Him who died for them and rose again!" It is when we decide to lay down our own lives and own ambitions, when we...
