Final feedback on building project

Final feedback on building project
Just more than a week ago our communications team was asked to post a blog on the building project that we helped out with. We had less than 8 days to complete certain tasks set out before us. This is therefore just the final feedback to show you a bit of what we accomplished. Before:                                                        After:                                   ...

God's way is above ours !

Hello everyone ! This couple of weeks, I could experiment deeply what was the meaning of the verse 8 from the chapter 55 in the book of Isaiah: "For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways," declares the LORD. Everything started at the border of Suriname. Pastor Deo brought us al the way from Timehri to the Surinamese border with a Bus. So we all went out of the bus and had to hurry to embark in the ferry. We went for the check of our passport, everything was fine for everyone EXCEPT for me...

Feet in the air

It's truly happening. So many things, people and circumstances have conspired together to have me not on this journey. To name but a few obstacles; a lack of finances, an old flame and most notably my dark past. I was lack lustre to believe that this journey would come to be a reality for me. I initially withheld from engaging with my teammates fully. Why build friendships and relationships if it won't bear fruits? Why build up any plans or expectations if chances are they would just come to naught?  Why risk getting hurt if you have nothing to gain?...

Boats against the current

Boats against the current
"So we beat on, boats against the current…" – F. Scott Fitzgerald. Macedonia – the nation with the most monuments I have seen in such a short distance of each other, cheap chocolate spread and a beautiful lake named Ohrid. This lake is one of the oldest and deepest lakes in Europe. We had the privilege of visiting this lake on Monday. Starting my journey in Macedonia was like getting into a little boat on Lake Ohrid with my own pair of wooden carved paddles. Ready for this adventure with Jesus. I was waiting for a storm to come, or for...

Beautiful Suriname...

Beautiful Suriname...
Crossing the Guyanese border with a ferry into the Dutch speaking country of Suriname... Not wanting to rest our eyes, when there is so much to see... Wooden houses build on stilts, coloured flags every where, all sorts of new fruits to try while seeing so many warm smiling faces..   After settling in, Pastor Moestafa came to greet us with a big smile. As one of the teachers at the mission school we could really learn a lot from him, for he has such a passion when he starts talking about God and even tears up when he explains...

Empty handed

Good day dearests Since infancy i've been fascinated by rings! You know you only remember certain childhood memories? Well one i distinctly remember is my using my positive carving tools (manipulating) with a friend of my gran's. I remember thinking if i make a massive deal about how much I love her rings, she'll think " the hell with my own grand daughter. This one appreciates it more." So if that doesn't say enough about my 'mild' obsession with rings then just know it is bad Subconsciously I still do it. My friends will tell you! I always fit their...

Life After Death

Life after death, what kind of death? Well the death that matters, the death of oneself, the death that allows God to take full control.   Are you at this stage? Or are you going through the stage where you are right, where you are not open for change. Let me explain to you how the "leader lists" went in my Northbound 2011: God, Jesus, Holy Spirit GCEX Leaders Project Leaders Small Team Leaders "Vice"-Small Team Leaders Pee - Ons (in other words..me) Yes I was the ultimate pee-on, its the best place to be, because you learn humility the...

He spoiled me...

He spoiled me...
God blew me away in Nepal. On the airport we had to pay $25 per person for our visas. We did not budget for this kind of money. Now, for a team with just enough money to survive in a country, this is not good news. I could see that our team became worried for the whole budget went into our entry of Nepal. I on the other hand got excited to experience how God is going to work as the God who provides... kinda Luke 10 but not officially one. For Nepal we devided into our two teams (I...

Wonderful Moments in Masaiti, Zambia

 (7 Feb 2008)

Green bushes, tall trees, a river flowing nearby, peaceful atmosphere, showers by candlelight, loving and caring people and a loud group of young people…that’s Masaiti Farming Institute at this moment!

We arrived at Masaiti Farming Institute, Zambia, on the 24th of January 2008. Immediately I fell in love with the natural beauty (the greenest trees I’ve ever seen!), the wonderful people and God’s powerful presence and love.
