Walking Like an Egyptian... (Part 3)

A THIRD part?! Yes...  It's been THAT long since I last blogged, and Egypt was THAT good...!

Small people, small towns and lots of dust!

It has been a long time since my last blog and in the time it took me to blog again we changed countries! We went from Thailand to China, and what a shift that was! While we were in transit, we spent the night on Shanghai train station and we realised that it was Sunday the 19th - and everywhere were posters advertising the F1 race in Shanghai, today! We couldn't believe it and so we decided to go and see if we can watch some racing! We got to the train station and saw just one other tourist. We ran up to...

Luke 10 mission in St Francis

Luke 10 mission in St Francis
No money, no phones, just the clothes on our backs and our Bibles...that is how we were sent out on our first Luke 10 mission. Four of us hitch hiked to St Francis Bay last Friday. Not knowing where exactly to go, we walked through the streets, intentionally looking for people to bless and pray for. Not by accident we stumbled across a youth group gathering that evening. We met Rachael, an American missionary, who invited us into her home for the weekend. We wanted to bless her with prayer, fellowship and encouragement, yet we were overwhelmed by the way...

There and back again...

New Zealand for me was the mythical, magical land where elves and hobbits competed with the All Blacks for space while doing the haka. Basically, I didn't know alot. What I found was a little different. The country is amazingly beautiful and VERY wet. The people are friendly, and the Christians have a passion for God. No funky hobbits though. And I had an amazing host family where I felt comfortable to be myself instantly. We worked for a week at a wintercamp for children aged 5-11. They really wiped us out by the end of each afternoon. They all had different...

Yellow Team - China & Tibet

Yellow Team - China & Tibet
The rest of China has happened since our last team blog and we have had an absolute blessed time! Our team is so thankful for what we have seen, learnt, experienced and what God did in our lives through all of it! Pictures will surely help the most in sharing our Yellow Team-time with you, so here are a couple of thousand words :-) At the Potala Palace in Tibet .   Invited to lunch with local friends.   A day out...also initiated and arranged by the local friends.   Yellow Girls*   Yet another household we got invited to.   Sally...

It's more "pun" in the Philippines

From eating "sea spaghetti", meeting new sisters in Christ, breaking down spiritual strongholds, and seeing hearts changed, the Philippines has been amazing.   After fives days of traveling using over five different kinds of transport and sleeping anywhere we could find, from airports to piers, we finally arrived in the Philippines. When we arrived we were greeted by the short term Philippines team (affectionately nicknamed the Beauty Pageant) who would be working with us with a local pastor. Our minestry was mostly evengelical, which was a new experience for most of us. We would start the day with house visits...

Final feedback on building project

Final feedback on building project
Just more than a week ago our communications team was asked to post a blog on the building project that we helped out with. We had less than 8 days to complete certain tasks set out before us. This is therefore just the final feedback to show you a bit of what we accomplished. Before:                                                        After:                                   ...

Beautiful Suriname...

Beautiful Suriname...
Crossing the Guyanese border with a ferry into the Dutch speaking country of Suriname... Not wanting to rest our eyes, when there is so much to see... Wooden houses build on stilts, coloured flags every where, all sorts of new fruits to try while seeing so many warm smiling faces..   After settling in, Pastor Moestafa came to greet us with a big smile. As one of the teachers at the mission school we could really learn a lot from him, for he has such a passion when he starts talking about God and even tears up when he explains...

Surrender the "I" and I'll give you the vision.

Surrender the
Wow, it is finally here, Global 2020! How did I get here? In retrospect, it's a humbling feeling looking back at your life, marveling at the Lords work!  Realising how loving and supportive the people around me have been on my journey but moreso how gracious and loving the Lord has been when I deserved His presence, blessing and love the least. I am amazed by the beauty and privilege of being part of the Lords plans! Making heaven busy, and bringing heaven to earth. I am left in wonder going into Global 2020, wondering where the Lord is taking...

The painting or the Painter

For quite a while now I have been walking with the question that how can it be fair that some get to hear the gospel each day of his life and then there are others that never got the chance to hear it before they die. Do these two individuals have the same chance of being saved?
