Turkish Delights

Turkish Delights
3 Continents in 3 days, Africa, Europe and Asia. This is how our 2016 journey began... and if it starts like this, then what else can you hope for but an adventure of a lifetime!  Turkish Delight, it comes in every flavour and colour. Some are crunchy, others melt in your mouth, Some look better than they taste, others look very plain and boring but when you taste it there is a flavour explosion. Some traditional, others the latest trend that comes and goes. Some only made from "healthy" honey and others pure sugar and gelatin. One thing that is...

The Getaway...

 sneeuimg_5316.jpgby Herman 26 March 2008

We have been traveling for the past two days and have now finally arrived at our final destination for the rest of our time in China.

We were informed on Monday morning that we should be ready to leave our hotel at any time to start our journey to our new town, where the Orange team would spend there days in China.

finally on our way :)

It's not always every team that seems to hit the ground running when they first set out, and some of us seem to be the only race horse still stuck behind the gates while the others are well on their way, but, its not how we start but if we finish strong. Finally in greece now and it is amazing! We are at the best backpackers and eating the best food. We are facing challenges head on and bonding more and more as a team. We're off to see some great sights now and enjoy this blessing from above. I...

But are you happy?

We have had to do with many missionaries this year and every time we meet another couple i come to realize the feeling i have towards them is pity. Do you feel like you are fulfilling your purpose? Are you sorry you are not living the American dream? Are you lonely? Do you feel like you have done meaningful things? Are you content? Is this home for you? Would you go back? Do you have true friends? These are the questions I could finally sum up and I see now that it showed how backward my perception is. 1John...

Stubborn Love.

046A97EB-8DAB-484C-921C-2C90ABB78776
After traveling through Turkey for 6 weeks I’ve seen and learned a few things. I’ve met some really cool people and had some really unique experiences. Turkey was full of everything.  We’ve also met some really difficult people. Difficult to talk to, difficult to share with and some really difficult to love.  One man in particular, I was almost convinced of his intention to get me to dislike him as much as possible. Conversing and sharing our stories with him was inconvenient and loving him seemed impossible.  And quite frankly, it made me feel inadequate. Incapable of understanding why I...

Harvest time in Sao Paulo

These past few weeks, have been a crazy adventure! We started off running! In Sao Paulo we were divided into small teams to go live with families in different parts of the city. We served at different churches and only met up as a big group a week later. So, in my week, Luisa, Charlotte and I stayed more in the backside of Sao Paulo. It was quite an experience! But what a blessed time! The family we stayed with, had so much brokenness but were still so full of joy! The pastor of the church took us to different...

Left Behind

It might be seen as negligent, irresponsible, bad luck, poor admin. We see it as God's divine intervention and an answer to the prayers of little warriors. We were informed that Margot's India visa had expired and she couldn't travel South with the rest of the team and Yellow decided to stick together and stay with our little Miss Prosch. Saturday morning at 6am we waved goodbye to the rest of the team. If you picture 5 sad little faces as a bus pulls away you are wrong. We were half awake and still in bed as they said their goodbyes....

Moving, Changing, New Beginnings - China

Moving, Changing, New Beginnings - China
My time in China started a bit different than some of my other team members. The moving crew  (Me, Madelein, Miga and Coetzee) helped our contact's family to move to a new house for the first five days. We had so much fun, but worked really hard. We actually got "elevator lack", because we went from one building's 10th floor to the other building's 5th floor every day with heavy boxes, in an elevator. Up and down, up and down ! But yes, we are Global Challengers, we can overcome anything... why?? Cause we have Jesus on our sides people !...

BELOVED

written by Sulene

During our time here in Zambia, God has confirmed the words of a song I wrote last year in Egypt to me.  Especially when we were discussing the Father heart of God and the freedom we have in Christ.  I praise Him and thank Him for who He is in my life and I long to live the life He desires for me every day.
