My first flight

Checking in? It went a little off track than what we thought it would. There were a few technical difficulties and we were not quite booked for our flight to Doha. But we serve a God of miracles! We were exactly on time for our flight. I was dropped off by my father, brother in law and sister at the airport in Johannesburg. We shared a quick coffee and then the reality hit me. I'm leaving the country in 3 hours!!!!!!!!!! It was hard. Every breath hurt as I hugged them and watched them leave. What am I doing?...

Left Behind

It might be seen as negligent, irresponsible, bad luck, poor admin. We see it as God's divine intervention and an answer to the prayers of little warriors. We were informed that Margot's India visa had expired and she couldn't travel South with the rest of the team and Yellow decided to stick together and stay with our little Miss Prosch. Saturday morning at 6am we waved goodbye to the rest of the team. If you picture 5 sad little faces as a bus pulls away you are wrong. We were half awake and still in bed as they said their goodbyes....

Orange Team – Luke 10, Day 1

Orange Team – Luke 10, Day 1
Normal 0 As you may know we were sent out on a Luke 10 journey from Panajachel to Mexico City on Wednesday the 20 th of August. However God told us to only leave on the 3 rd day. Only realizing later that God had a plan for us in these three days, we did not only have to clean up the house but also spend time greeting the locals and sorting out all the left over clothes left by the rest of the team.   So at 9am on Friday morning we started our faith journey to Mexico… more...

The beginnings of Explore Africa part 1

If there's one thing a hate it's injustice. Our world is packed full of it. But there is one continent that is known for it: Africa.   On our beautiful continent you can pick and choose. Which cause do you want to champion? Which problem do you want to face? Which injustice do you want to be redeemed? It's all here. Every single one.   If you hate forests being destroyed, this is the right place. If you can't bear the afflictions of animals, come to Africa. But the one that trumps all is the injustice towards human beings.  ...

You got to be lit up to shine your light

You got to be lit up to shine your light
8 weeks of training, where to start! To summarize what we experienced during this time is difficult because every day was so full of new and exciting things! The one thing that stood out was that you can't help others if you don't know the solution to their problem. I've discovered that Jesus Christ is the solution to everything! Even eternal life! Here follows a brief summary of what we encountered during this 8 weeks: We had a local Jeffreys Bay challenge on our first day to learn the area and surrounding places. Through that, we got to learn all the...
