Make way for the things that cannot be shaken

We talk a lot about trusting God and embracing Him no matter the circumstance, but when push comes to shove is that really our response? The last few months I have been praying a prayer: “God, I want to be a woman of faith. Would you expand my faith and what I can handle, that I may know and trust you more? Create in me a heart of faith and a confidence in You that is unshakeable!” I have been asking Jesus to take my faith to new depths for MONTHS!!! And to be honest, I had sort of come...

The beauty of brokeness

After almost a month in Cuba, which was AH-MAZING!!!!!, it's hard to pick out only a few words for even just a glimpse to be experienced, for words only describe a moment in black in white where the colours are crucial for envision. As the first pages of this chapter were reflected through our lives, it is evitable that our Lord's hand is at work in every single person's life on earth as His plan was and will always be the nations. For our prayers are showered over the city of Santiago and the hearts of our family and friends'...

Cuba: Cars, Calling and Christ

Cuba: Cars, Calling and Christ
In the 500 year old multicoloured town of Santiago we found ourselves lost in time back in the 1950's with vintage cars, Cuban men smoking cigars and playing dominoes on the street, and Latino salsa music filling the warm night air in the plazas. Cuba has ridiculously cheap and delicious street food. So we took full advantage of the 1 peso (60c) ice creams, espressos and butter cookies every day! In this communist country everyday life for a Cuban is quite hard. Small sizes of food rations are handed out to each household monthly; street sweepers' and doctors' salaries are...

Running with the Gospel

Running with the Gospel
Running in Phuket, Thailand has and still is a big challenge to me. Heat and humidity is not your friend during marathons. It doesn’t matter if it’s 6 in the morning or later during the day; 29 degrees Celsius and humidity over 90% will makes things tough. But still, sport is practiced more and more here in Phuket and it is good to see young children taking part in this. Speaking about young children, I would like to introduce to you this young lady in our club. Under 6 years old, she has won many events in her category and...

Ya Man - Jamaica

With much anticipation we arrived in the all famous country of Jamaica, where Bob Marley and reggae was born, country of my childhood heroes like Asafa powell and Usain Bolt. "Ya Man, wagam?" are all to common to us now. Rhastas and weed everywhere you look. Everything I thought Jamaica would be came true. We had the previledge of sharing the good news to locals on the basketball fields, singing songs to kids at school, even giving the homeless a close shave, feeding them, dressing them, cutting toe nails ect. We soon found out that this beautiful country also has a dark history with great sorrow within...

MY answer

What is important? For some people that read this blog, you might not have the answer to his tricky truth. Some of you might have an immediate answer, some will hesitate but will get to the answer and some people more often than you think, will not have an answer at that very time. Why does this question raise so many different answers in life, and why does everyone’s answer differ? I have asked myself this question many times before. What does it mean? What is the truth? What is the correct answer? Everything that I can think of that...

Middle East. The start?

My mind is blown. My foundations shaken. Suffering is still a thing? It's still happening? Why do we not know about this? Why did I not know about this? Do people actually know what is going on? Do people actually realize that there are PEOPLE in these circumstances. Living breathing people. What do you do in a situation like this? What can you do? Deliver a heater and a stove? A few mattresses, pillows, gas? Just enough food to get by for maybe a month? Show LOVE. We've been in the Middle East for three weeks now. Visiting families and...

BELOVED

written by Sulene

During our time here in Zambia, God has confirmed the words of a song I wrote last year in Egypt to me.  Especially when we were discussing the Father heart of God and the freedom we have in Christ.  I praise Him and thank Him for who He is in my life and I long to live the life He desires for me every day.

Rooftop heart-to-heart with my King

Rooftop heart-to-heart with my King

I grew up thinking God requires acts of service and good works. I thought Christianity was about denying thyself, and that the Gospel was a heavy burden to drag around wherever I went.

I thought God required prayers with an extensive spiritual vocabulary. I thought a prayer was only allowed to be about how great He is - I may never mention my problems to Him or ask Him for anything. And so, that was how I prayed for the first 14 years of my walk with God.
