I could not keep it in.

Just recently i have found new encouragement through my brothers story of his life changing experience with God.    And i can say truthfully that i really needed this.  I feel revived.    At the very beginning of the year i knew that things back home was not at the place God intents it to be and i quickly realized the reality of it all when i visited home after 2 months of  training, just before departing on the year long journey at the beginning of March.    The situation back home was like this; relationships where not quite ok...

Moving, Changing, New Beginnings - China

Moving, Changing, New Beginnings - China
My time in China started a bit different than some of my other team members. The moving crew  (Me, Madelein, Miga and Coetzee) helped our contact's family to move to a new house for the first five days. We had so much fun, but worked really hard. We actually got "elevator lack", because we went from one building's 10th floor to the other building's 5th floor every day with heavy boxes, in an elevator. Up and down, up and down ! But yes, we are Global Challengers, we can overcome anything... why?? Cause we have Jesus on our sides people !...

Learning to listen

Learning to listen
Its hard to start dancing when there is no music. Actually it is impossible to dance to the tune if you can not hear it. You will look off beat and certainly make a fool of yourself. This past month of training I learned that its not about dancing to the beat, but rather the fact that the music is always playing.   Its not really about the song playing, but do you have the ability to hear it? Faith is believing God speaks. He is always speaking to us. Playing the most beautiful melodies. Longing for us to listen....

Jamaican me crazy
Jamaica! Yeah mon! (Hey/ yes/ great/ bye) Wagaan? (What is going on/ howsit) Everytin idle.. (everything is good) Phathwa is the local language developed from english by the slaves. Jamaica is one of the countries I have dreamed about coming to since I watched good old cool runnings back in the day! Off to a rough start with chickv fever I slept for 4 days nursed back to health on a dusty mattress on the floor of a church in one of the most dangerous suburbs in Kingston Jamaica. As the theme song of cool runnings goes... rise above it......

Shaking the foundation's of my Faith

IMG-20180209-WA0017
Charles C West once said “We turn to God for help when our foundation's are shaking, Only to learn that it is God who is shaking them”  In Luke 10 Jesus sends out the 72 Disciples before Him to go to the towns in faith without any extra belongings except the clothes they have on them and trust the Lord.  During my Luke 10 experience God shook my foundations in such a way that I got a shock of how little faith I have in Him. I learned that God is a God that provides for his children when stepping...

The Ultimate Beginning!!

This is the ultimate beginning where we are where God wants us to be....
God has a specific plan for each of us this year, each a unique plan, because we are the body with different functions. The last few days we have had intense training on pride, the 2 kingdoms and other topics that I wish all can have. I believe that we are here for a reason.  We are the next group that will make a difference in the world.

Almost as is we are leaving home.. again...
Almost like home. We are leaving. Again. We have been living in Bosnia and Herzegovina for 6 weeks now. Thursday, 21 August we will fly to Turkey. Mostar is a beautiful city that had to suffer in a war 20 years ago. Today I can, with joy, say that we had the opportunity to experience the coffee culture and the lovely people of BiH. We worked and played hard. NoviMost is an organisation started by missionaries. The main purpose is to encourage and love the youth of BiH. They have several “stations” in Bosnia and Herzegovina and we could spend...
