God gives relationship advice

God gives relationship advice
Obviously in this year God not only teaches me about Himself in my life, but He teaches me His heart towards different aspects in my life. For example, my husband. As a girl I had a list, a very unfair list, about my husband. He had to love family, want children, be a business man, earn a lot of money, etc. Now my list changed to this: He has to be a man of God. Everything will turn out for the best if this is a truth, because if he searches for God's will then he will find it. Because...

Church at the crossroad

Church at the crossroad
A crossroad is a place where you are forced to stop, reassess and consider the direction you are going. Our team's time at the church in Al Mafraq, which means crossroads, was such a time. Each one of us stood at a crossroad. We had time to stand still, take in the view (which was beautiful by the way) and consider which way we are going. God used this time to lay foundational truths in our hearts. He took each one of us on an adventure in finding our identity as His children, depending on Him and drawing closer in...

Timeless Cuba

Cuba will be remembered as a country caught up in the past. Movie scene streets, 60c ice cream, classical old model cars and hearts warmer than the street pizza on offer. We were served like kings by the dearest Cuban family, struggling to put food on their own tables. Blessed with our daily Ola! and a warm smile we had our daily hot chocolate and bread before starting the day. Cuba opened my eyes to see what luxury we actually live in back home. The mere thought of running water when you open the tap now makes me want to...

A day in an unknown little Chinese town

So my heading might be a bit boring but let me assure this day certainly wasn't. In my book it's one of the top 10 best days of my life and so what if I'm only 22 and have my life ahead of me? This day will be engraved in my memory till death!

In Awe of God

My journey started a few months ago, when God started to speak to me about a small country called Nepal. A few weeks later I found myself in this country of Mount Everest, Hinduism, and a Nation which really likes to strike against everything… And in the midst of all this God arranged an encounter with a crazy South African Team from Global Challenge. Some weeks later while I still was ministering in Nepal God started speaking to me about the faith-journey this Team was doing and four weeks later I found myself in this beautiful town called Jeffreys Bay...

Will you die for someone?

yellow1.jpgThe last few days of training has really been great! We have been talking about who God is. Firstly God the Father followed by God the Son with God the Spirit to come.

It was with a small group session talking about God the Son where we had to read 1 Peter 1: 18 - 20
God truly talked to me though this and showed me a side of Him I never thought about.

The Journey Continues

Log Home Building
One journey ended and another started. Guess that's the cycle. The new global challenge students arrived last week, bright eyed and bushy tailed. Thrown into the thick of it they'll be returning from their first camp with a new perception and some humility. Their lives already changed in unforseen and wonderful ways. God in the midst of it all. I also started this year in the thick of it. The 7th of January I started working at Global Leadership Academy, or GLA for short, it's a one of a kind school that started as an off shoot from Global Challenge...

Faith like a Chicken

Faith like a Chicken
What a privilege:) Coming to Nepal I had quite mixed expectations as I didn't know much about the country( only about Mt Everest) but I also had amazing feedback from the team that had been there in the previous year. God truly came and taught me that his ways are higher than our ways and totally blew my expectation away.   It all started with an unexpected 25 dollar per person visa cost upon arrival at the airport in Nepal. Immediately knowing that on a Global Budget it would be impossible in human terms to even pay for accommodation with...
