Effortless Evangelism Part 3

GOD IS SO GOOD!!! Thank you for reading His miracles again. In this entry we see God working in a small small town in Russia called "Divnogorsk" this is a beautiful town and reminds me a lot of Hermanus, the town where I come from. I was very reluctant to go but upon our arrival we were met by the local pastor, who pastors the most beautiful church, probably in the world! Anyway we were there to help with some street ministry, incase you don't know what this is then I will explain:  We make a big circle and we...

What is our mission?

FCE Training in Zambia

Look where we are sleeping!

Rain, rain rain every day! At least the bugs don’t come out that much.

Our time here is great, the food is great and our sleeping conditions are even better with hot showers every day. I have to admit some of the traditional food is a bit hard to swallow...

Luke 10 Experience

The past 2 weeks, we've been on our Luke 10 journey within Senegal. We were sent out by our leaders, as Jesus sent out the disciples according to passage in Luke 10. Beforehand though we had to ask ourselves Questions such as: Jesus where do you want us to go? Father how do you want us to apply the Scripture within this journey ? And thereafter we had to actually go and apply what we felt the Lord lead us to do? We eventually decided to take a road to Diana, a small town near a river. Lead mainly by...

The Heroes of Fatih Walk Among Us

I would love to introduce to you Jerry and Christy, as well as their 4 children ages 11, 9, 7 and 3. This family comes from a continent not too far from Africa. However, they do come from a cultural background far removed from that of Africa, particularly the Ethiopian one. Ethiopia is an African country in its own world with its unique ways. As most people know, Ethiopia has its own calendar and its own time; I don’t think any other country can get as unique as that. It has a rich coffee culture mainly expressed on a daily...

Egypt-Israel 2011 wYw (Video)

The final stretch of the 2011 Work Your Way journey took place in Egypt and Israel. Personally Cairo had a tendency to remind me a bit of India. Dry, hot, a lot of poverty, dirty, people trying to constantly sell something to you, bad odors floating around in the atmosphere every here and there etc etc. But still through all that there was a love and compassion for the people which is hard to explain. Especially when thinking that in the very same areas we were walking 25 Coptic Christians were killed just days after we left. I can't help...

Global Challenge - A one year marriage contract...

First off I would like to give thanks to God for this massive privilege of being able to be part of this journey and have the opportunity to serve Him!  It is purely out of His grace that I am here and through His grace that I have the opportunity see and experience a small part of the world and what it has to offer.   Nothing can prepare you though for what you are about to undertake when you sign up.  You get to Jeffrey's in January full of expectation and excitement about what the year has installed for...

London - Trial or blessing?

After spending 4 weeks in London I have to ask myself: "Was the London experience a trial or a blessing?" To be honest, I still don't know the answer. I do know that London was a challenge on more than one level: spiritually and emotionally.  We arrived early on a cold and wet Friday morning (nothing new for England!) and headed to the SA Congregation's Festival grounds. After pitching our tents we made a team effort and soon pitched all the tents that was needed for the festival. After spending the very wet and stormy night in the tent, we were...
