In a few minutes I will be 22 years old and I pray that the new year in my life will bring renewal from deep within me. I yearn to burn with passion for God as I have before, I desire to love Him again with my whole heart and soul and mind, I wish to return to Him, my First Love. Jesus Christ. I am tired but quite satisfied when I look back at the past year. A lot has been accomplished. Sadly I have to admit that I did not love God as I used to. Exactly like the people in Revelation 2:1-7. For me...

After spending 4 weeks in London I have to ask myself: "Was the London experience a trial or a blessing?" To be honest, I still don't know the answer. I do know that London was a challenge on more than one level: spiritually and emotionally. We arrived early on a cold and wet Friday morning (nothing new for England!) and headed to the SA Congregation's Festival grounds. After pitching our tents we made a team effort and soon pitched all the tents that was needed for the festival. After spending the very wet and stormy night in the tent, we were...
Yes the trip has finished. A month ago I got lost in the streest of Jerusalem, gave in English lessons in Cambodia and played cricket in India...It feels like a lifetime ago. How quickly one falls back into routine, suddenly to spend an hour with the Lord is so much effort, you struggle to keep focused on your purpose in life...and you slip. You even forget about the times you had, the profound revelations He showed you and the promises you made... This past month has ben hard. Not because of the people in my life, but because for an instant...
I would love to introduce to you Jerry and Christy, as well as their 4 children ages 11, 9, 7 and 3. This family comes from a continent not too far from Africa. However, they do come from a cultural background far removed from that of Africa, particularly the Ethiopian one. Ethiopia is an African country in its own world with its unique ways. As most people know, Ethiopia has its own calendar and its own time; I don’t think any other country can get as unique as that. It has a rich coffee culture mainly expressed on a daily...
The final stretch of the 2011 Work Your Way journey took place in Egypt and Israel. Personally Cairo had a tendency to remind me a bit of India. Dry, hot, a lot of poverty, dirty, people trying to constantly sell something to you, bad odors floating around in the atmosphere every here and there etc etc. But still through all that there was a love and compassion for the people which is hard to explain. Especially when thinking that in the very same areas we were walking 25 Coptic Christians were killed just days after we left. I can't help...
This is for any mom who's girl came home with the crazy idea of joining the Global Challenge...
We spend the last two weeks in the Transkei. The first week we were in Coffee Bay where we helped to renovate a small Christian school. While we were building, fixing, painting and moving around things in the school and the house of the lady who started it, God was doing the same in the houses of our souls. We had teachings on Spiritual warfare and deliverance, where we learned to face our sins and mistakes and to give them to Jesus so that He can free us. We were filled with the fullness of the Holy Spirit so that...
A Month of blessings We are currently in Senegal, Dakar with Explore Africa and I want to share the month of blessings behind us. While on Mount Sinai I prayed that God will reveal himself in a big way to myself just as he did to the Israelites during the exodus of Egypt. I prayed that he will open the red sea, give us water from a rock, be a cloud of fire of warmth during the night, guide us during the day and feed us with manna and meat. And thats what he did on our travels to Dakar....
And we’re back! There is a buzz of excitement in the camp as everyone is once again reunited after the Luke 10 journeys. Please note that we won’t be giving much feedback on the journeys now, but extensive feedback-blogs will follow in the days to come. Everyone is on such a spiritual high after experiencing God 1st hand for more than a week. Not that we do not experience Him during other times, but as you can imagine, relying on God for everything you need takes a huge amount of faith and it keeps on growing. Those of you who...
