The end of the first chapter of our journey

The end of the first chapter of our journey

Training ended on a high note Thursday evening and the Global Challengers of 2013 are ready to go! The Commissioning was so special - we gathered at Global Junction, with almost the entire Global Challenge community in attendance. We had a fantastic time swapping stories and memories from training while eating the mouth-watering food they prepared for us. We also received our Global Challenge gear, which really finalized it for me: I am now ready to go into the nations!

Treasures of the heart.

me_and_elbe_having_fun.jpgThailand - 26 May 2008

We spent the last 3 weeks in Thailand and what a blessed time we had. Our team was in Phuket for 5 days and formed part of an intersession ministry. We joined the red team and spent 2 weeks with Pastor Wasan near Pang Nha, north of Phuket. We build houses for less-privileged people, had a kids-program...

Getting to the end of Malaysia

Sitting here in the Internet shop and knowing that we have to say good bye to Malaysia and the people we met is heart braking. We had such an awe sum time and it IS as if we are part of the family, especially Ben and his family.   Me and Johann broke away from the larger group to come help with some IT difficulties that the ministry in Malaysia was experiencing. We did from the most basic of carrying computers to setting up servers and building websites. I still don't think that we know what kind of difference...

SPEED KILLS....

Ready Steady SOUTH 3!!! On your marks, get set, race!!! We are in the middle of our first challenge and this is the ultimate race of provision, God's provision! We had a slow start with a 5km hike, the sun burning down on us, 20kg on our backs, long road ahead staring us in the eyes and challenging us time and again. And miraculously a pick-up truck stopped next to us, offering us a ride to our next stop, this wasn't magic or a coinsidence, this was prayer! From there on God sent people (or was it angels), rides to...

London - Trial or blessing?

After spending 4 weeks in London I have to ask myself: "Was the London experience a trial or a blessing?" To be honest, I still don't know the answer. I do know that London was a challenge on more than one level: spiritually and emotionally.  We arrived early on a cold and wet Friday morning (nothing new for England!) and headed to the SA Congregation's Festival grounds. After pitching our tents we made a team effort and soon pitched all the tents that was needed for the festival. After spending the very wet and stormy night in the tent, we were...

My Vision for "Around The World In 80 Days"

My Vision My Vision for 80 Days is to experience God’s love first hand and to witness His amazing miracles. I expect to grow in Christ in order to teach people about Him and to accomplish the greatest goal of all, to take them with me through the gates of Heaven. I want to appreciate what I have, through the hard work that we as a Global Challenge team will do in other countries. I want to see people laugh and smile, just because we did things for them, without expecting anything or any payment. I never want to see...
