All work, no play… For Southbound, no way!

All work, no play… For Southbound, no way!
Our prayers before coming to Colombia included lots of rain.  Thinking in the terms of spiritual rain, it turned out to be drops from the sky as well, and plenty of it!  Now, as everyone who has been a child knows, when you mix water and soil, you get:  MUD!     With this in mind, after a long day of digging holes and opening up pipes, the Yellow team, having the advantage of being on top of the hill, decided that a “friendly” attack on the Blue and Silver teams, working down under, would be a good idea…...

Obedience, even when I don't understand why...

Coming back from Luke 10, it was so great to see the rest of the team again, but still I found myself alone in the corner, many times.  Just reflecting on everything that happened and trying to make sense of it all.  What am I saying?  How can I ever try to figure God out??& nbsp; I don’t need to understand His will to do it!

India Invading us!

Or just invading our hearts...

Its difficult to describe everything you see and experience when everything you experience is new to you!

Coming into India you are bombarded by a serious sensory overload! I’m still trying to figure out what some of the smells were. I was pleasantly surprised that being so far away from home didn’t feel as alien as I thought it would. Gravity was still pulling, the wind was still blowing and people were still living living their lives all around you.

Operation- Storeroom Detoxification.

Greetings from New Zealand nice, cold, rainy weather in total contrast to nice hot, spicy India. Well it was a bit more than two weeks since the yellow team arrived at the Orphanage  in India and what a blessing we had there. After arriving we evaluated the place and saw where we would be of greatest help to the orphanage during our stay. So we decided to help clean the three storerooms. What we thought would be a quick one week job turned out to be mission impossible. Our first day as we started to clean the storeroom we spent most of...

My memo

I've been wondering what to write, what should be said, what could be left out? Guatemala has been one tough cookie, but one of those with the hard exterior and the juicy insides. The Lord has done so many amazing things this month. Oom Jackie says "I'd like to confuse you so that the Spirit can change you." There was major confusion this month, huge headaches, rivers full of tears, AND a massive breakthrough. When does demonology turn into a mud slide? When did Peter start to sink? When did major panic and confusion set in? When I took my eyes...

So this is basecamp

Wow!  A lot of hard work, a lot of info.  Not enough sleep and almost enough food!  Wow!  Yes, I'm on Global Challenge and going into Africa for a year.  So this should be considered a pretty good start. You are invited to join us on this journey.  What we ask is that you pray for us.  That you pray for our support team.  Pray for our families staying behind.  Most of all, pray for the people we are reaching out to.  So the Holy Spirit may open their hearts to the wonderful message of salvation through Jesus Christ.

Spirit or flesh

Hi All After a long time that I have not writen a blog I am back and ready for the new "adventures" that God has placed before me. We are currently in South-America in Bolivia and is planning to go to Peru. We are on our Luke 10 journey but we have descided that we will approach this journey a bit differently that what we set out to do. We have descided to sit down and submit to God and listen what he has to say to us before we just go and do things. We set out from Sao Paulo in...

Colombia

Colombia
After almost a month in Colombia we are now in Taganga, on the north coast of Colombia, and we’ll be heading to Cartagena before we take a connecting flight to Guatemala through Bogota and Panama City. I have thought it well to create a page for Megiddo Ministries (the ministry through which I send out newsletters) on facebook . Through this it is much easier to make Megiddo Ministries more easily interactive, being able to give through short status updates, notes, testimonies, photos and videos in a less formal format than a newsletter. People can also respond and interact more...

Learning to Love

Since being in Colombia I often asked myself how do I love other people? Out of a society where everybody looks for their own interests and tries to get the best out of everything I didn't know how to love others. I know God loves us so much that He gave His son for us and how Jesus loved other people way back in the past. But how does it look like today? So I went and sought God for it to show me how to do it and for opportunities to put the theoretical knowledge into actions.    God...
