India. Â Our last country. The final stretch. Â India was challenging to our team in many ways. Besides the fact that the people worship cows, meaning cow pies were everywhere, and don't appreciate hygiene at all, there were worse things happening. Â You see India is like a battlefield. Like a war zone. You either suit up, or you get hurt. The places we visited during our time there were all places where you couldn't let your relationship with God slip. Â We started off in Delhi, wow, what a city. People and cattle walk side by side. Hindu...

Yes the trip has finished. A month ago I got lost in the streest of Jerusalem, gave in English lessons in Cambodia and played cricket in India...It feels like a lifetime ago. How quickly one falls back into routine, suddenly to spend an hour with the Lord is so much effort, you struggle to keep focused on your purpose in life...and you slip. You even forget about the times you had, the profound revelations He showed you and the promises you made... This past month has ben hard. Not because of the people in my life, but because for an instant...
Ready Steady SOUTH 3!!! On your marks, get set, race!!! We are in the middle of our first challenge and this is the ultimate race of provision, God's provision! We had a slow start with a 5km hike, the sun burning down on us, 20kg on our backs, long road ahead staring us in the eyes and challenging us time and again. And miraculously a pick-up truck stopped next to us, offering us a ride to our next stop, this wasn't magic or a coinsidence, this was prayer! From there on God sent people (or was it angels), rides to...
2 months of Australia, 1 of Tasmania! Half of the team is here on the island, doing volunteer work at farms and houses, the other half is at sheep farms, raising founds for the rest if the year and maybe an extra country! (Muller still with us in Spirit) There's time for going out on the streets, and time for working, "embrace the season you're in" or you'll never live fully.. Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted. Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth. (Matthew 5:4-5 NIV)
Don Miller recently released a book titled, 'Scary Close'. I didn't read it. Still, I was fascinated, intrigued by the sound of it, "scary close". Here is my own summary of what I think/feel about these words. It hasn't really got anything to do with the physical journey we are on, but spiritually and emotionally - those boxes are pretty much ticked. In my previous blog I quoted Hosea 4:6, "my people are destroyed for lack of knowledge." My own understanding of this verse has since progressed. In Hebrew context the word 'knowledge' is translated to 'intimacy'. In other words,...
A certain man lame from his mother's womb was carried, whom they laid daily at the gate of the temple to ask alms from those who entered the temple; who, seeing Peter and John about to go into the temple, asked for alms. And fixing his eyes on him, with John and Peter said, "Look at us." So he gave them his attention, expecting to receive something from them. Then Peter said, "Silver and gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk." And...
Our first challenge began when we visited a small primary school within Jeffery's Bay Township. The school's name is Ithemba Primary School. We had some time to pray for God's vision for this school and how we could help and support the community and most of all to help restore what was lost and give children back some dignity. Our first mission was to clean the toilets, classrooms and the area around the school. To give a true insight about the true situation and state of the place: The toilets were broken and used until they were overflowing. Can...
Today was our first day of wandering around in Cairo, and it was awesome! We whent to see the pyramids, experienced the markets and we are planning on going for a boat cruise on the nile tonight, and all this with less than R100! Not going into the pyramids though, but we could get to within about 200m of the pyramids. We arived in Cairo yesterday, but before that we where spoiled at a desert retreat! It was amazing and the friendly people there treated us like family with large home cooked meals! With our departure in South Africa we...
The Three Musketeers: Pieter, Shanine & Estelle embarked on our first challenge at 5am this morning. We had to dig for a liter of cola in the sand on the beach and down it as quickly as possible, after which some of us did not feel too well... ;) We packed our luggage tried to strategise about our tasks for the challenge and had a lovely breakfast. We received money to aid us in our challenge, but we also have to raise R100 each. We ventured into the location on a search for our beloved road buddy, but was unable...
