Coincidence?

Coincidence?
It was day two of serving tea to the refugees at Tabanovce, the border between Macedonia and Serbia. It was a cold day. Raining too. I remember not feeling my toes and serving tea was nice...at least my hands could touch some warmth every 7 seconds while filling a cup of chai (black tea). " Talg? , Charien?" were the main 2 words spoken to many refugees stretching out their arms over the counter also longing for some comfort in the cold weather - a cup of warm tea (served with a smile :-) While trying to serve as many...

Adventure in Peru!!!

When we arrived in Peru, we did not have any information about what we would be doing while we were there. There was a lot of change. We could not even imagine what we would be doing the next day. Each day was a surprise. The Pastor that we were working with had organized that we would distribute Bibles and present dramas in schools. The first day we did a drama and gave the Bibles out to the children. But sometimes, we did not have the opportunity to do a drama and share the gospel, we were only able to...

God my provider

God amazes me almost everyday even when I doubt him. He gave me my dream job working as a doctor at Zithulele, a rural hospital near Mthatha, for about 2 years. I absolutely loved the opportunity to serve my community and support my family which is very important to me. Then at the end of 2016 I felt God calling me to travel with Global Challenge Expeditions for the whole of 2017. I struggled with this because it was against all the plans I had made for myself. I planned to move to Port elizabeth to specialise and settle down....

Thailand.......you stole my heart!!!!

Thailand.......you stole my heart!!!!
Col3:15 "And let the peace that comes from Christ rule in your hearts. For as members of one body you are called to live in peace. And always be thankful." Okay, yes, the pink team did make history!!!!!!! We won our first challenge. I think by now everyone heard how awesome our race from Kuala Lumpoer(Malaysia) to Phukhet(Thailand) was and how God provided for us all the way. A few highlights were riding on elephants, the Twin Towers in Kuala Lumpoer and the amusement park, but most of all the people. The people blessed us so much. They gave us...

Who am I?

Who am I?
Hi! My name is Philip Pretorius. But who exactly is…Philip Pretorius? I think the first thing you should know is that I’m the type of guy that always seeks out laughter and tries to see the fun in, well everything! I was born In Pretoria and grew up in Pretoria.  I am currently 18 years old and proud to say that I’m about to finish my school-career. Thus I have come to the place in my life where I have had to ask myself the important question… What exactly is it I want to do with the rest of my...

BRAZIL! The hidden paradise

On Sunday the 6th of March Southbound Departed for Brazil, via Doha (Qatar). Not only was this my first time out of South Africa, but also the first time that I slept in an airport. On arrival at Sao Palo we decided to sleep over at the airport and take a bus to Ubatuba in the morning. It turned out to be a good decision!

A Joyful Heart

IMG-20190211-WA0006
The dictionary discribes joy as:                                 A feeling of great pleasure and happiness. I truly believe that being joyful is one of the key things to get closer to God. And even just to give a smile to a stranger can change your life and theirs. I let people and things steal my joy for way to long and I knew it. Only now on this amazing journey I finally realized that nobody has the power to steal my joy unless I gave them that power....

Choose to be challenged!

Here we are with our religious backgrounds in Guatemala, with an amazing Pastor that came from worshipping Satan to worshipping the Almighty one Jesus Christ..... Ok so we started off by Ben (The Pastor) telling us to leave all our religious baggage, come with a teachable spirit. And let the Holy Spirit work in this time and forth. Ok so we had the training in the beginning of the year with FCE that was awesome and gave us a firm foundation to stand on, and to fight for Christ! But there was just more, God wanted to refine us more...

Obedience, even when I don't understand why...

Coming back from Luke 10, it was so great to see the rest of the team again, but still I found myself alone in the corner, many times.  Just reflecting on everything that happened and trying to make sense of it all.  What am I saying?  How can I ever try to figure God out??& nbsp; I don’t need to understand His will to do it!
