As I sit down at the computer I’m munching
on a delicious Thai snack. I’m not quite sure what it is, but it’s deep fried
and sugar coated which makes it divine! I’m motivated to dedicate this piece to
Thai food… Though, that would compel me to write blogs dedicated to Thai
people, Thai beaches, Thai culture, Thai markets, basically anything Thai. Yes,
I love
India the eye opener! Hi, I hope you are well and blessed. I just want to let you know that everything is well. I have had a hard time in the beginning of this country. The weather is hot and the mosquitoes are eating us alive, but the children have stolen each and every one of our hearts. I wish I could show you what God has done for me! That I can only wish for until you see me again. As a lot of you (whom know me well) know I have always had a problem with my...
Wow this was great! A week in Coffee bay and a week Canzibe. And then The First Challenge. to get back to J bay. It involved true taxi's, police, pigs and afval. Coffee bay is an amazing place. Beauty beyond believe and full of all kinds of adventure. Work your way build a fence around the school building "Plankie". (The best looking fence in Transkei) We also destroyed a concrete floor and laid a new one.At one stage there was no water. But there is no problem that God cannot solve. Water was always just a prayer away. Oom Gerrie's...
Three weeks after we have left Cameroon, we as a team were busy with the debrief. I wrote my team the following letter, I think it shows a bit of every day life as a team of Explore Africa and the challenges we were facing....enjoy! Dear team, While debriefing Cameroon I came to the conclusion that we had quite a bumpy ride behind us. And by this I don’t only mean the road between Cameroon and Gabon. All of us had challenges, personal challenges, team challenges, cultural challenges, maybe even God-challenges. All of us learned lessons. For most of us...
Everything began at the aiport in Tel aviv on saturady - sabbath - with no public transportations... So we prayed in small groups and got this vers: 'This is my command - be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.' Joshua 1:9. Perfect vers to hitchhike to the see of galilee! What a great experience! Six days full of hiking and God's blessings through free bananas, grapefruits, 25 fishes and bread made this definitely my highlight! This week showed us that God is really with us and...
Date: 02 March 2009 Place: Anafora / Cairo, Egypt Our time in Egypt began with a climate shock. We expected to experience warm weather conditions, but instead our layers of jackets emerged. During the first few days we stayed 50km outside of Cairo, called Anafora, studying and dwelling into the Bible. Learning so much about our great God. Then we left for Cairo.. and experienced Cairo to the fullest in the first 2 days. These 2 days we explored the city and experienced the Egyptians way of living… also looking for a souvenir. We had close encounters with their...
