Cake-eaters for life! Blue teams starter-upper Luke10 in Guatemala

Cake-eaters for life! Blue teams starter-upper Luke10 in Guatemala
In Panajachel another group of young people came to also serve Mi-Reto and we came alongside them. So we are just unknowingly sitting listening to Louis (our team leader) welcoming the new group and he says “Ok, please open your Bibles up to Luke 10” and thats when we knew!! Luke 10 challenge!!! The challenge is to go out, preach the gospel and heal the sick and take nothing with you! So our instructions were to leave Panajachel, find our man of peace and come back in 3 days. We got 20Q (which is equal to R20) and that we...

The Power of the Seed

Thinking of my time in the Philippines I am reminded of Isaiah 55! I was sitting on Olango island, under a palm tree...praying about the Philippines and her people. My Bible calls the chapter “An Invitation to Abundant Life”. It was a word in season – not just for me as the sower of the seed...but also for a people that desperately needs the LORD.

Introducing China…

What do you really know about China? Beijing is the capital and host of the 2008 summer Olympics. Just about everything is “Made in China”. Locals speak a funny language and have a really weird alphabet. They aren’t open to the gospel of Jesus Christ.  And the closest you’ve ever been to speaking Chinese is shing, chong, sha! Is that about it? That’s about as much as we knew until about 3 weeks ago. So here is what we’ve learned since…

RAIN

It's clean, life giving,it changes. It's made by You, for You. It's an outcry of joy: Your Son is alive Sorrow is also present in every drop because Your sons & daugters denies You everyday. Gracefully joy returns with vengence as your children returns to their Father. Don't ever stop purifying, overflowing, blessing. Rain on me, open the floodgates of heaven. Please wash me away until only You remain! Amen, Amen, Amen...

Dehli tax...

Dehli tax...
Delhi. What an amazing city: Vibrant and full of enticing smells and sounds. Tasty street food in all shapes and sizes with chai tea around every corner and a great place for some souvenir shopping. Before arriving I heard about all the marvellous things to experience in Delhi, but there is one thing that people seem to underemphasize: the Delhi tax. You see, Delhi provides all these wonderful sights, sounds and tastes at a cost. It demands payment in one way or another. If you do not spend all your money or time there, then it will take what it...

India has been a blessing!

India was a beautiful platform to start off as our first country. We learned some valuable lessons and really experienced God’s favour and provision for the team. What was really interesting and heartbreaking about this nation was that most of the people are looking for something to worship, but are blinded to the one and only true God. It was a challenge to see the person as a person and not the idolatry. But fact is that they are God’s people and it’s His country and He loves them. We have been so privileged to be part of God’s story...

Exciting week in Atatiaia...

Exciting week in Atatiaia...
Atatiaia After arriving in Sau Paulo the big team split up into two groups, as you all know the green team stayed behind in Sau Paulo while the Yellow team went on to Atatiaia.  Picture an orange and yellow painted house in a nature reserve on a mountain with an amazing view of the valley below, capouchen monkeys swinging around in trees that towers over the house and hummingbirds swiftly flying past not afraid to sit on your finger to drink from the sweetend water on the porch railing. It was a wonderful experience as we went to visit many...

Exploring Panama

Exploring Panama
For 12 days we stayed in a church in Gamboa, across the panama canal. One of our verses for the year is Isaiah 55:5 'Surely you will summon nations you know not, and nations you do not know will come running to you.' Everyday, huge ships travel through the Panama canal from the other side of the world and we got to watch them sail past. They didn't exactly come running but instead these nations came slowly sailing past us. It was Gods word spoken in the beginning and we got to see it being fulfilled and that's exactly...
