Luke 10

Luke 10: I'm sure everyone has their own idea of what it must have been like in Jesus' day, being one of his followers or even in the any years to come where people like Paul went out to plant and encourage churches. Well, during our Luke 10 journey in Paraguay it felt to me as if we went back in time. After God blessed us with money through two different people, we were well on our way to a little town we knew nothing about, except that God placed it on our hearts. A town called Benjamin Aceval, mas...

An eye for an eye

Detlef and myself were walking the streets of Marrakech yesterday when suddenly, towards my right, a young Moroccon man suddenly started beating a girl. He first hit her through the face with his open hand and then kicked her on the leg so that she buckled under the force. I was over there in a flash and pushed the guy away repeating: "You dont hit a girl like that." He kept on pushing back against me, saying something in Derija (the local Arabic dialect). Meanwhile the girl started crying. By then a middle-aged Moroccon lady and her husband arrived and...

Molo Transkei
Wow this was great! A week in Coffee bay and a week Canzibe. And then The First Challenge. to get back to J bay. It involved true taxi's, police, pigs and afval. Coffee bay is an amazing place. Beauty beyond believe and full of all kinds of adventure. Work your way build a fence around the school building "Plankie". (The best looking fence in Transkei) We also destroyed a concrete floor and laid a new one.At one stage there was no water. But there is no problem that God cannot solve. Water was always just a prayer away. Oom Gerrie's...

Our Story

As I sit down at the computer I’m munching on a delicious Thai snack. I’m not quite sure what it is, but it’s deep fried and sugar coated which makes it divine! I’m motivated to dedicate this piece to Thai food… Though, that would compel me to write blogs dedicated to Thai people, Thai beaches, Thai culture, Thai markets, basically anything Thai. Yes, I love Thailand and I love everything about it!

4 countries, 1 month, 1 blog...

4 countries, 1 month, 1 blog...
I have felt the excitement of traveling again, I have seen the vastness of the Egyptian desert, walked where Jesus died and was raised, flew across 2 continents, and heard the laughter of Thai children, but nothing compares to knowing Jesus Christ my Lord for whose sake I have given my all. And as I stand with a shovel in the sand at the building site that we are working at in Thailand, I think back on the month that has passed.   The 24th of February the GCEX 2009 team stood surrendered at the airport as we boarded...

Luke 10 for Life

Luke 10 for Life
I know you haven't heard from me in quite some time, blogging wrongfully comes second for me when time on the internet is limited. But I believe you will soon feel updated on the life and happenings of lindie pienaar.   The morning just before we left on the journey, all five of us - for the first time - felt sure that the Lord put Mexico on our hearts, without discussing it with one another. So we started out on our Luke 10 yourney being sure about only two things: 1.We're heading for Mexico and  2.The Lord will guide our every...

Faces of India!

Faces of India!
Genesis 1:26-27 Then God said, “Let us make human beings in our image, to be like us. They will reign over the fish in the sea, the birds in the sky, the livestock, all the wild animals on the earth, and the small animals that scurry along the ground.” So God created human beings in his own image. In the image of God he created them; male and female he created them. All of these faces depict God, because they are created in His Image!

My child: 'TRUST AND OBEY'

CubaNo human plan, no route, no set destination, no accommodation, not knowing one person's name in the whole country - we stepped off the plane in Cuba as Global Challenge Distant Island pioneering group. We were uncertain of many things, but the one thing we were certain of was that our almighty God was in total control. Few people ever get the chance or create the opportunity for God to be in total control and be totally dependant on him for your next step. And how He did show us that He is in control...

God does not need me, He wants me!!

God does not need me, He wants me!!
I have just realized once again that God does not do things like we do it. God has His perfect time, His perfect ways. That my life, my being is not about me, but that it’s all about Jesus. Psalm 8:3-4 “ When I look at your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have set in place, what is man that you are mindful of him and the son of man that you care for him.” I only live through His grace and by faith. I have realized that God’s plan for...

The Surgery of a Lifetime!

The Surgery of a Lifetime!
Isaiah 41:9-10 “…You are My servant, I have chosen you and have not cast you away; Fear not for I am with you; Be not dismayed for I am your God. I will strengthen you, yes I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.”   If someone were to ask me how to explain in a couple of words what has gone on in the last month I wouldn’t be able to find those words. But let me just say that God is an amazing Father! God has an absolute perfect...
