After seven weeks of training our journey started and we left South Africa to discover east Africa. We landed in Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania, slept there for one night and then travelled by bus to Nairobi, Kenya, the next day. Talk about Africa at its best: the airport in Dar Es Salaam is not a closed building, but just a roof on pillars and it reminds me of a big garage where I would store farming machines in. The shops look like market stalls and every taxi driver in town tried his luck on the wide eyed "muzungus"....

Would you believe me if I said that as I was standing there looking over the Transkei, I believe that God was skipping through the mountains and the wind. The 9'th of February we got into busses heading for the Transkei. We lived at a little place called Canzibe, It was an experience I'll never forget . The people don't have much in the Transkei, but the view they have makes them rich .We spent time doing a lot of children's ministry , painting , door to door ministry, hospital visits and being part of a xhosa church. It...
I am a tree. Yes, complete with leafs of different shapes and sizes, roots gripping to whatever I find my security in and fruit of different colours and tastes. The soil my roots are resting in determines how my leaves look and my fruit taste. I go through different seasons and I usually look a lot different after every cycle of spring through to winter. Sometimes a thorn would stick its head out or a wilted fruit pops up and I would try to get rid of it as hard as I can, showcasing more good fruit next to the...
My current location is Hong Kong...but I would like to go back to my time in South Africa and share a few experiences!
I’ve been in South Africa for only 5 days, however it feels like forever…in a good way!
Dude's. .... What a country! Caos when you get here, immediately know you are on your one. So much energy and people going fast and going big. You have to adopt to the set pace or full out. Today we leave for Phuket, thank goodness. The hundreds of kilometres on a bicycle looks more fun than the past two days In Bangkok. Personal challenges and the visa applications really took it's tall. I am so thankful that JESUS is always in control. So it is a new day, I am going to stay thankful in JESUS....
Transkei 2021 What started off as just a far off idea. Maybe even too far to reach. An image very differently painted in my head. "The Transkei". A place I knew I've never set foot on in the physical. A place so unfamiliar to me, none of the conversations with past travelers could've prepared me well enough for. Racing through emotions as we exit the familiar gates of what was now known as home to us, "The Missions House". Somewhat afraid, yet excited for what will be discovered. A month in the Transkei. A time of disconnecting from our familiar...
Our first ministry point in Kenya was with Joy in her 3 layer house. Almost like her impressive cakes she bakes. Usually a house has floors but this one is special. It's layered against a little hill just off Forest line road in Ngong. We were privileged to help out at Harvest School. The amount of pupils...21. This means very personal attention from staff that really love what they do. Kids in Kenya are well behaved and educated. They greet you around every corner, always smile, and even let you take the occasional nap with them while listening to a...
As your heart of stone is broken, a heart of flesh appears. When you find yourself in a senseless rivalry, your heart feels assaulted. You are bombarded with questions that cause you to second guess yourself and your motives. You wonder , is there something wrong with me? Why am I here? How did this happen? Where are you God? And all I received from God was silence. In Jordan Jesus showed me He speaks in different ways. I really struggled to hear His voice and through that He spoke to me through people , looking at things and...
It is so wonderful when JESUS shows me His love in creative and beautiful ways. We came to Laos to serve and yet these wonderfull people served us. From day one we where accepted as family. They where always ready with a new blessing. Or as it where, thy spoiled us non stop. This had me thinking, what did I really do here? Was I really a servant to my new found family? So all I could do, was pray and asked JESUS to do the work and let me see His glory. So I know JESUS did...
