The Adventure Climax

"My goodness," I thought, "if we survive this God would have done a miracle." I was hanging on the side of an old series 3 Land Rover pick up, grabbing onto pieces of luggage as we slugged through a water filled mud hole and dangerously tilted sideways. We were somewhere in a rainforest, somewhere in the western part of Cameroon. Going somewhere, very slowly. This was our second day of travel on the way to Yaounde, Cameroon and it was also the most adventurous. After exiting Nigeria at the immigration office we climbed into a canoe and crossed a big brown...

GCEX in Pretoria Any description I give to the experience I have had these past three weeks will fall short of the glory and honour it should give too our utmost Highest.

What an awesome privilege it is to stand as a witness to the hundreds of young people committing their lives to Jesus in South Africa today.

Every where we visit the same theme stands out...

Leaving Portugal for Guatemala

Our time in Portugal was truelly a blessed time.  The people there were so friendly and they did everything they could to make us feel at home.  Some of them could not speak English very well, but we managed to communicate by show of hands, pointing or guessing the words.  They really opened their hearts to us and it was a privilege to meet them.  One of the highlights for me was the basketball we could play with some of the kids there.  This one day I played for quite some time with Ismael, he is so full of joy...

AmAzInG RaCe - CHaLLenGe
Hello all...   Just a few pics to highlight the madness that was the challenge - (if you have seen the amazing race on SABC you'll have a slight idea...) no transport, little to no money, no transport, no sleeping place, 2 days, 24 tasks...  And as for the mention of the chicken in the previous blog - above is proof that WE CAUGHT IT :) and just in case you were wondering... yes - Leo was delicious! :)   The two days were only the beginning... We were thrown straight into Survivor... that's right - a double bill of...

"so leetle deeference!"

slices-of-life-1.jpgHey friends.

When we think of you and pray for you, we cannot imagine the adventure or the hardship, the number of mosquito bites or the smelly clothes that won’t dry, the endless hours on questionable  transport or the stuff that you have to eat and still smile politely. Yet know that you are loved. And build that house of your heart upon a Rock and it shall stand. (Even though it is actually a mobile home), but you know what I mean… (Math 7: 24)

From Dusk Till Dawn

Ready for action!

By Marcel - 13 April 2008

Climbing the Dalijia Mountain in China takes you: 14 800ft high; up more than 3000ft vertically in 1 day; through Snow,Mud and Water; from 7:30a.m. to 8:30p.m.

This whole mountain climbing expedition started the day before when the missionary here in China, Pieter wanted to know whether I would like to go mountain climbing with him and his brother Zac from the States. Without a moment's hesitation I said, 'absolutely' very confidently.

The guts to give myself - Lesotho Sep

During the September school holidays, 11 high school kids and 1 final year student gave their holiday to go and help at the Thlakuli orphanage in Butha Buthe, Lesotho.   During this ten days we spend two days on the road and worked hard for the rest. Four members of the team were also part of the July outreach to Tlakuli and two of them returned after an outreach September 2008. The ophans enjoyed seeing the familiar faces return. The team finished the vegetable garden we worked on in July and also put the shade net covering over it.  ...

The beautiful Sahara

The beautiful Sahara
Fulani town of Tanout in Niger If we were all created out of mere dust and sand, the Sahara must be the palet in God's creative hand. Having tea with Saharawi people in the Western Sahara (Dakhla, Morocco)   Celebrating Magdel's birthday in the desert! "For I will pour water on the thirsty land, and streams on the dry ground; I will pour out my Spirit on your offspring, and my blessing on your descendants."(Isaiah 44:3) The Southern borders of the Sahara in Niger "He turned the desert into pools of water and the parched ground into flowing springs."(Psalm 107:35)...

Islands. legs and kidneys

Training and equipping is always necessary and vital for effective ministry.  Even when we may think we know alot already, there is still so much more to learn. Our first week was  settling in and getting to know our fellow team members.  We had some time to discover the kingdom islands, which you can't find on the world map, in case you were wondering, it's in our hearts. Haha....and yes some of us did search for the islands on the map.  And then kingdom wars followed......we were divided into teams and waged war against each other as a part of team building and also how to...
