Today was a new experience to a lot of us! We had the day off (it was Charmaine‘s birthday), spent about R55 and we were all off to the Himalayas to go on a bit of a hike to experience the true Himalayan experience… SNOW! An hour and a half ride through the mountains in the Indian jeeps (Mahindra) we were at our drop-off! It started raining! Now the question was… to go on this 3 hour hike in the rain to see snow, or to go back to town and sit in a coffee shop??? Hike it was!!!! We...

Finally the Pink team Blogs again :P The last couple of weeks has been really incredible, we have experienced so much of God's faithfullness and provision starting with winning the "thailand/Malaysia" Challenge right through to being priviledged to have built awesome friendships in every place we have been. We are currently on a backpackers journey through different small villages somewhere in the middle of China. We as a team have decided to do it as a "Luke 10 type journey" where we trust God for food, accomodation, travel and the right contacts in every place. Already we can testify.... We...
Bump after bump, turn after turn, hill after hill... "Is this road ever going to end?" As we traveled from the doctor back to the compound, through the land of the Maasai people, these were my thoughts. We have had quite an interesting, intense, and different time in Maasai land and in Kenya, these past weeks. Then again I am not sure what place hasn't been interesting, intense, and different. As we started in Nairobi, we first went from visiting a family in one of the worst slums in the world, then after a few days, we had...

I only understand now how we limit God in our lives because of our comfort, it is to much of a sacrifice to shift into a “uncomfortable” situation,...
Yes you heard correctly! I am doing my second year of Global Challenge! My last journey was North Bound 2010. This year I am in the Distant Islands team. I am so grateful for my team! They are so supportive and loving. I also have a new vision this year: To impact and serve the team to the best of my ability, and to apply the lessons I've learned in my previous Global Challenge journey and through last year.
''I am going'' I have seen( thank you c-kruis..oops 13th floor), I have heard( thank you pastors and most my friends and mentors) and I may not understand but '' I am giong'' ''for me to live is CHRIST and to die is gain'' I have died so many times in my life, refusing what was inside and what was calling out to me.. lying, stealing and even shook my fist at it. I am saying ''I am going''......why for I know HE is it for me. celebrate my death with me, do not mourne it nor me. celebrate for I feel alive...
Before we left we spent time with Daniel who hosted a disabled camp for 6 disabled children and their carers. That next morning the kombi was packed and we were sent off by the GCEX staff and LXP leaders. The trip down to Knysna, Mossel Bay and finally Cape Town were filled with a lot of stops and adventure. We witnessed our co-driver's bungee, pushed our kombi to the garage in Knysna, stayed with friends in Mossel Bay and camped in Kommetjie! The rain did not scare us off and the ironning room became our kitchen. Marshmellows over the fire is now...
