God loves a cheerful giver.

012_om_macau.jpgWritten by Sulene - still news from Macau

The GCX08 white team (myself and the team leaders) had the awesome privilege of spending time of fellowship with Martie and the OM staff and students in Macau.

Meeting and sharing with these servants of the Lord was a very rich experience for me.  It was HUMBLING to say the least!  And encouraging and joyous and blessed!!!& nbsp;

We set off without any money, any direction and not speaking the language. Some call is courageous, other stupid! I think we still don’t really know what we got ourselves into. It’s been a journey of a life time with a team I’m willing to go around the...

Broken in the hands of the Almighty

What does it mean to say one is broken or to be broken? How many times have we used this term on ourselves without knowing what it entails? The Bible even makes reference to this word a couple of times. So what is it all about? Over the last 3 months, I have been praying and asking the Lord to break me and teach me what this truly means. I believe that He has revealed a small part of brokenness to me. I would like to share this with you….. In Mark 14:3 it refers to the woman breaking the...

Without any team or personal money we trusted God to provide for everything from food, water, accommodation etc.   God was more than faithful and looking back I stand in awe of Gods work. He protected us the whole way, provided safe places to sleep, food to eat or a ride...

Mysterious Morocco

Small and crooked streets path open the ways in the Medina, a true Moroccan old city. Behind every corner lies a new alley to explore and a new adventure that awaits. The streets are lined with colourful objects, food stalls billow with smoke and a new smell that urges you to taste the traditional food. The streets are filled with laughing children, running around and playing games. Behind you there's someone shouting pardon! and the next moment you are almost face to face with a donkey pulling a cart through the narrow streets. From all around you there are friendly people...

Being Saved cost you nothing...following Jesus cost you everything

We serve a God of perfect Love.   I've seen and tasted it these past few weeks and where I'm ,for the first time really, confronted with other religions and idols, my Lord not only seem more real to me now but my God makes so much more sense to me here...away from home. What other God makes Himself known as a Provider and Healer? What other religion's foundation is build on Love?  What other God states that His Glory is His Goodness?  What an honor we have in having part in Him.  Where other faiths are preformance based, our...

Detour Germany

Detour Germany
Detour So Germany was not in the original planning as a country to visit, but due to visa reasons we had to go there, the irony was that after our flights was booked Hanna, that is in J-bay but was going to visit a friend in Germany, saw that we would be landing a day after her and flying out a day after her. And since her friend that she would be visiting is involved with the Hillsong church in Germany asked if it would be possible to serve them. The friend came back to say that it would be...

DANCING IN THE FREEDOM OF GOD

DANCING IN THE FREEDOM OF GOD
As I close my eyes I see Deborah wearing a flower dress with ribbons in her hair. She is skipping up and down the street while laughing out loud. I know this is possible, for our God is a God of miracles. Deborah is a beautiful six year old girl. Paralyzed from her hips down she has been living in a wheelchair all her life. She has to wear diapers and is 100% dependent on her mother. She's never been able to run around, play with friends, ride a bicycle or climb a tree and these are only a few...

Testing the waters of Brazil!

Testing the waters of Brazil!
During high school I was invited to a friends baptism. Not having grown up in a christian home, I really had no idea about what it meant, but went along anyway. At the time I remember thinking that this friend seemed to be making such a huge commitment on that day and that it would never be something I would do.  But here we are in Brazil and last Sunday I was baptized in a pool in the middle of a beautiful forest. Thinking back on this helps me to realise how far God has taken me allready in the...
