During high school I was invited to a friends baptism. Not having grown up in a christian home, I really had no idea about what it meant, but went along anyway. At the time I remember thinking that this friend seemed to be making such a huge commitment on that day and that it would never be something I would do. But here we are in Brazil and last Sunday I was baptized in a pool in the middle of a beautiful forest. Thinking back on this helps me to realise how far God has taken me allready in the...
15 February 2008 - Red Hill
We dared to face the accusations of many; serve the poor; listen to the broken hearted and wipe the tears of the widows. With broken hands and feet we have become builders of homes and builders of God’s Kingdom in Red Hill.
This morning was tough to get up because we only got to bed way past midnight. Peter and Marita took us to the bar that they run and to show us some of the Phuket night life. This was a true eye opener all of us. At the bar we each enjoyed a sundae and watched Djokovic win his round match with ease. We enjoyed chatting to Peter and Marita and could share about each others’ cultures and languages. They are both wonderful people and love to enjoy good company. I must say, our stay in Karon Beach was an...
Jerusalem was the highlight of my trip so far. Yes, partially for the clichéd reason that it is awesome to walk in the footstep of Jesus and to experience and see the places where "it all" happened so many years ago. Yet, is was not merely the history that touched me, but also the present of the city. There were too many great moments to be able to single out one, but I had an especially emotional experience on the Mount of Olives (which is actually a hill even my granny can climb) where we stood at the Dominus Flevit (the church built...
Jamaica is one of those countries like Switzerland or Morocco or the Maldives, meaning that if you ask people if they would like to go there, 90% of the replies will probably be a firm “yes”. I wonder why that is, though. Is it because of the publicity the country received through mediums like Bob Marley or the Cool Runnings movie? The fact of the matter is that Jamaica is not what most people would expect. It is probably one of the countries that resemble Africa the most outside of the African continent. Which did make it all the...
As I close my eyes I see Deborah wearing a flower dress with ribbons in her hair. She is skipping up and down the street while laughing out loud. I know this is possible, for our God is a God of miracles. Deborah is a beautiful six year old girl. Paralyzed from her hips down she has been living in a wheelchair all her life. She has to wear diapers and is 100% dependent on her mother. She's never been able to run around, play with friends, ride a bicycle or climb a tree and these are only a few...
Belize, Mexico and Cuba The next stop, Belize. After Guatemala and the amazing things that we saw God do there we were very expectant for the rest of the journey. We were joining the YWAM base that is on a little island called St Pedro just of the coast of Belize for the next 2 weeks. On arrival Elly one of the YWAM leaders gave a word over us of intimacy with God. They felt that in the next two weeks we needed to rest, as their Base is a Holiday resort that they are renting, this would be...

Whilst been in Xiahe, China we as a team have been given an eye opening book to read. Revivals Golden Key by Ray Comfort. I would like to take this oppertunity to share some of the revelations that stood out for me, as this will surely impact the way i witness to the lost in the future. This particular story really hit home to me.. " Two men are seated on a plane. The first is given a parachute and told to put it on, as it would improve his flight. He's a little skeptical at first, since he cant...
