From the north to the south, the beaches of the Galilee to the stone-cobbled streets in Jerusalem, the country shouts the name of our Emmanuel - God with us. But the echoes in the religion and the hate and the noisy youth murmur the depravity of our human souls. This is my second time in Jerusalem, and again the wailing wall is exactly that, a cause for despair. Against the wall an old woman is rocking back and forth. Pilgrims come from afar to leave their prayers rolled up in wads of prayer, stuck in between two rocks. On the...

Oom Christopher told us during our course in Zambia that God has a special word for each one of His children each day - a unique word; a word He wants to give to you personally; a "daily bread" kind of word. The question I was confronted with, was whether or not I am there every single day - asking and listening - to receive and realize that word from God in my life? I need to confess that too often I am not. Even though I'm so desperate for it, there are just too many times in my life...
We arrived late in Guatamala close to 22h and like all good global challengers we slept at the airport to the amusement of the early morning travellers. The bus we took from Guatamala city to Panajachel was intresting in diversity of rainbow colours and lets just say the drive down was speedy and not what i am used to in a public bus down a rather steep hill. But then again nothing of the time in Panajachel was what i am used to.......... When we arrived in Pana i looked forward to lay eyes on the famous Ben of Panajachel...
On our way down from North to West Africa we crossed a country called Mauritania. Im sure for most of you the name rings a bell but if you were asked whether you know anything about this country your reply would probably be the same as mine was. Not much. I didnt know much but from what I read and what people told me this was a strict muslim state were Christians were being killed for their faith, a country firmly in the grip of Islam, a dangerous place were one shouldnt really go unless you really had to. But...
The dirt between our toes as we trudged through the mud tracks; the squinting of our eyes as another dawn succeeded to take our breath away; the brown tan on our skin after a long day in the sun: The daily attire of Zithulele. After a month spent in the Transkei, I have a new definition of "having your world flipped upside down". On the first of March it was travel day - our team of fifteen people were half asleep in the bus and little did we know what lay ahead. It was a month where most of...
Team Indigo roadtrip form J-bay to J-burg Our first lift picked us up form J-bay and took us to the N2. Our second lift dropped us in P.E at the airport. From there we took a brand new rental car given to us by Judy from AVIS. at a very low price, and she blessed us with an additional R200.00 for petrol, thank you Judy !! After traveling for 7 loooooong hours we stopped at roadworks where Jaco got out and started talking to a gentleman, Oom Cobus, without asking him he offered us a place to sleep. Thank you God,...
In this part of the world people use code names. When in public, in the company of strangers, over the phone or even in emails the real thing is never said. Sensitive names of people, places or organisations are all coded (the above title is an example of what our codename would look like). Just yesterday we heard of a South African who was told to go for a routine police check. When he got there he was handcuffed and flown to England with a Not allowed back in Morocco stamp in his passport. His wife and children still in...
Here are some pictures from our time in Egypt. Hope to send some more soon. We are in Thailand at the moment busy with some ministry. It is really awesome to search God's heart for the things that He wants for us. It is very exciting and full of adventure. I am realizing God's spirit of adventure more and more each day.
WOW WOW WOW This is but 3 words to describe our experience in China or is it one Since we set out from day 1, we have been blessed with meeting people in the most odd way imaginable. Personally in the first "city" we slept over I met a insurance broker that spoke perfect english and helped me find a internet cafe that I urgently needed. As orange team we moved on to the next stop (sorry I don't say the name .... security reasons) where our first day was uneventfull yet full of surprises. We mainly prayer walked through...
The Wall stands big and tall across the country Dividing Fathers, dividing mothers Many are afflicted Many are in need of change Many cry out, why...how.. So many just ask for division to stop The land is ripped apart Nabors fight against nabor Who is right and who is wrong? Where is the love...the mercy But still they build the wall Bigger and Higher There is no time or place for partiality Father God how can this be for a land You love so dearly Division and hate is setting in There is fear and anger...
