God Provides...walking in faith!

God Provides...walking in faith!
Date: 23 February 2009 Place: Transkei / Alabanza, South Africa   Our last couple of weeks of preparations was very blessed by a visit from Joe of Scotland, a great man and prophet of God. He taught us of Spiritual Gifts, especially the gift of Faith. In impossible moments our Lord will show His countenance before man who earnestly seeks Him. With these weeks of getting ready, my last hope of getting the necessary funds were getting low... no matter what we do, it is only the Lord who knows what we need and when we need it. The departure...

Metamorphosis

"You've changed." One sentence that people either yearn to hear, or dread to accept. As people our tendency is, it seems, to fear change. One will always claim to be 'embracing' change but the reality is actually that their inner being is still trying to defend and hold on to whatever it is has that has supposedly 'changed'. I mean we're perfect right? Why would we need or want to change? Most believers will tell you how God changed their heart. Myself included. I'm talking about a complete transformation, a revolution of the highest caliber. Pride shattering, character building, grace...

News from India and New Zealand

News from India and New Zealand
New Zealand is really great, in the physical I mean. We spent our first week in the Algies Bay Cottages, right next to the ocean. God just came and blessed us with a place where we only had to pay for the first night, with the rest of the week for free. God is so great! Our first week in India was spent in the wonderful Himalayan Mountains where we did a Veritas Bible Study module. But our whole team really needed this rest as after the Mountains we traveled to the Emmanuel Missions orphanage in Kota where we spent...

Revelation in the rain

One of my diary entries at the beginning of the year makes a statement concerning an event I expect to happen in the year ahead.   Hebrew 6: 1-2 speaks about leaving the elementary doctrine of Christ behind and going on to maturity.   Let's proceed with the above in mind...   One of my biggest struggles is that of the mind. Far too often I allow the Accuser to play havoc with my mind. Thoughts and emotions enter, are projected into the future and I end up being the one finishing last in all of these "man made fairy...

Jump for joy - the Zulu way

Jump for joy - the Zulu way
Although our jumping is not as coordinated as that of our fellow GCEX teams, we do not lack in enthusiasm or serving the community. After the opening of a sports stadion at Ndumo in KZN in South Africa, the URCSA church in the community decided to clean up the mess left behind. This decision was made during our morning service under the trees (because of the heat and humid conditions). D-day was decided on - Monday 16:00. At the estimated time, two Sani loads of kids and a few adults were picked up and transported to the rendevouz point where...

Luke 10 - In Europe. Expect the uNeXpEcTeD!

During the year you have read about a Luke 10 journey which the other teams have done. During the month of August, we as Northbound, went on our Luke 10 journey, also known as a faith journey. So this is the Lime teams journey of how God provided and what we learned through all of this.

Bapchismo (I like to spell foenetically)

Bapchismo (I like to spell foenetically)
Getting Baptised After God brought so much freedom and healing in Guatemala, getting baptised brought even more joy and a new peace.   But this is only an introduction to living in the Spirit all the time – the old Betty goes under the water and a supernatural thing happens in the Spirit and then a new creation comes out from the water. Thank you Jesus J

Officially West-African

The pioneering journey continues! Since our stay in Dakar God has taken us across the Sahel (grasslands) of the West-Africa all the way to Niamey, the capital of Niger. As the team was away on their Luke 10 journey and we were only meeting up with them again in Bamako, Detlef and myself decided to go on our own little adventure. We visited the most western point of Africa, Point des Almadies, after which we explored the Lac Rose (pink lake) region. Lac Rose has a very high salt concentrate and therefore the pink colour of the water. It was...
