Panajachel challenge - White Team v1!

Panajachel challenge - White Team v1!
Thursday-morning in rainy Panajachel, a day like any other, time for work right Think again. True to the name us Global Challengers were given a challenge for the day! Having challenged a few times in our small team today things were shaken up a bit. Instead of challenging in our respective small teams, the white team had the privilege to embark on the adventure through Panajachel and its neighbouring towns.  Take a little bit of green, pink and purple and what do you get, the amazing white team! The day was filled with many different memories, taking as much as...

Taking notes from an experienced campaigner! (wYw)

Taking notes from an experienced campaigner! (wYw)
Today felt like a real Cape Town winters day.  We woke up at 06h30 with the sound of rain on the roof… and it was still dark outside.  Welman and De Necker were loving this and missing their Cape homes very much.   Last night we arrived in the little town of Langkap and because Ps Silvanus was busy ministering, we took the 30 – 40 min walk to the village where he stays.  He put us up in a large room and we even got mattresses and pillows.  What a blessing.  Last year’s team slept on straw mats, so this...

Word bound

Word bound
The Pilgrimage - True North   If you will permit me I would love to take the time and reflect on our North Bound journey and what we have been doing.   The beginning of understanding in this instance would be knowledge of the vision. Us as students only receive the framework of the journey and that makes it unexpected, new and exciting, which is great! Among other things the North Bound journey is about faith, stepping into the unknown. By living the framework us students endurance is tested and brother James refers to this when he states endurance builds...

A Life changing journey

A Life changing journey
Well how do i start to type all the things that happened on our Luke 10 DADDY.... that´s the word that comes to me when I think of the great, life-changing Journey that i had..... The Luke 10 began with a BANG.... God gave us a name of a small place in the South of the Brazil..  and off we headed for our small town but little did we know that our journey was not a straight forward Journey... on the way to our small town we made a  stop, it was a homeless shelter in Sao Paulo where we...

cambodia in a tuk tuk

our flight from Bangkok to phenom pneh was delayed, the team was not verry happy. although we were thirsty, jet-lagged and hungry, we met interesting people while waiting at the airport in thailand. Justin, a mi9ssionary from Indiana, was one of our primary introductions. their team works with young girls in brothels. on arrival we were greeted by andrew, the missionary here in cambodia, his wife and three tuktuk's. it was an interesting experience! wee loaded nine people, their baggage and a load of excitement on the back of a 50cc motorbike. the traffic in the capital still amazes me....

LIFESONG

By Mari

“Jesus, lover of my soul
Jesus, I will never let you go
You’ve taken me from the miry clay
Set my feet upon the rock now I know

I love you, I need you
Though my world will fall
I’ll never let You go
My Saviour, my closest friend
I will worship you until the very end…”

Team blog: Jamaica, land we love

Team blog: Jamaica, land we love
Team blog: Jamaica, land we love Just for interest sake, the island of Jamaica is about 10 000km^2 (which is roughly half of the size of Gauteng alone). There is more than 400 different denominations of churches and it's therefore no surprise that it's known in the Guinness Book of World Records as the country with the most church buildings per square kilometer. Jamaica is described by its people as a "melting pot"  of different cultures and people groups that came together on this small island to become one. All of these facts had a definite impact on our ministry...

Receive "it"

Receive "it"
-Ps 18: 1-2-   “I love you, LORD , my strength.    The LORD is my rock , my fortress , and my deliverer ; my God , my rock , in whom I take   refuge ;   my shield , and the horn of my salvation , my high tower . “   Reading this remarkable Psalm I asked myself: “how much do you LOVE God?   How much do you understand loving God? And then asking God how I can love him more I got a very simple answer.   “The more you obey Me the...
