On our way down from North to West Africa we crossed a country called Mauritania. Im sure for most of you the name rings a bell but if you were asked whether you know anything about this country your reply would probably be the same as mine was. Not much. I didnt know much but from what I read and what people told me this was a strict muslim state were Christians were being killed for their faith, a country firmly in the grip of Islam, a dangerous place were one shouldnt really go unless you really had to. But...
Our journey from Zinder to Abuja was mostly uneventful. We said our goodbyes to Niger, crossed to border to Northern Nigeria and watched as the desert was soon replaced by lush green surroundings. The extreme poverty also gave way to a sense of prosperity and big bustling cities. The first of which was major centre of Kano. The famous West African Peugeot taxi we were driving in did break down about half way to Abuja. But by now we were used to that happening and patiently waited in a random mechanic’s yard as they welded and grinded away at pieces...
Although my journey of faith only starts in 2013 - it feels like it already has. To see God's provision for my team members and myself thus far has been amazing! As He is preparing my heart for next year - I am just reminded of the gentleman that He is! If I look back at all the miracles, testimonies and great things He has done, helped me through and blessed me with in my life so far, I stand in awe. I believe that next year will be no different! I have gained new respect for the words "faith"...
The truth is my friend, we are all just petals in the wind, broken off from beauty, and now scattered across the world. Whenever you feel alone, or like building up a hidden tower, remember, we will always be part of the same wildflower… Raised up in a hidden forest by a caring Gardener, to send His fragrance into a world who has lost His splendour. "Lord, make my petal last longer… I need to save them… make me stronger!" "But child, it was never your job to plant. Just display a glimpse of the beauty of what My hands...
I think i'm only coming to the realisation of what God has called me to as His child now. Saying that - it is still a journey. What it means to say "yes" and what He means when He tells me to go. We spent most of our lives without knowing the full truth about who we are without Jesus, how rotten and evil our true nature really is and also without the full truth about what Jesus really did and what He enables us to do when He calls us. I am finding myself at a place where God...
Chile - Dreams come true Surprise Waka waka .. back in 2010 Soccer world cup we watched Uruguay vs Chile. Dressed up in red white and blue we chanted CHI CHI CHI LE LE LE Viva Chile! Dear friends
During our visit to Guatemala last year a man prayed over me saying that I will live in homes I didn’t own and drive in cars that wasn’t mine.
Now, at the time that sounded crazy and I was most sceptical.
While working at the Inthemba primary school, restoring and rebuilding the classrooms, almost all of the material were provided free from different people (thing like bricks, wooden planks, nails...) ... I forgot my money at home the one day while going to buy building material, but I could not turn back. so I asked the store ownner and God provided, got everything for free!!!!!!! (God please restore those childrens lives aswell and be a shelter for them!!!!) There is an intense need for love and attention in those people's lives, lets love and help all the people needing...
WOW WOW WOW This is but 3 words to describe our experience in China or is it one Since we set out from day 1, we have been blessed with meeting people in the most odd way imaginable. Personally in the first "city" we slept over I met a insurance broker that spoke perfect english and helped me find a internet cafe that I urgently needed. As orange team we moved on to the next stop (sorry I don't say the name .... security reasons) where our first day was uneventfull yet full of surprises. We mainly prayer walked through...
