Fantastic Journey of Faith

Although my journey of faith only starts in 2013 - it feels like it already has. To see God's provision for my team members and myself thus far has been amazing! As He is preparing my heart for next year - I am just reminded of the gentleman that He is! If I look back at all the miracles, testimonies and great things He has done, helped me through and blessed me with in my life so far, I stand in awe. I believe that next year will be no different! I have gained new respect for the words "faith"...

Our Amazing Amazon Adventure

Our Amazing Amazon Adventure

It's funny how, just a year ago, I was watching a documentary about the Amazon on the television. Halfway through the program, I changed the channel, thinking: "Why should I watch a program about a place that I'll never visit?" It's funny how The Lord works, isn't it?

KENNY with wYw in India

 KENNY with wYw in India
Here we are on the airport at Cairo International, just lying around waiting for our 1 am flight, when a little man with an even smaller bag comes and sits next to us and pulls out this huge bible. Obviously we notice and start a conversation.  As it is, he is a believer travelling around the world to different ministries as the Lord leads him, on his way to India. Where like, hey! That’s what where doing!  We invited him along and that’s how a very cool 3 weeks started with Kenny. Kenny has been walking with the Lord...

Commitment vs. Surrender

While we were in India, the son of the pastor who started the orphanages asked us what is the difference between being a committed and a surrendered Christian. This question got me thinking... If you are a committed Christian, you commit to going to church one a week, giving your tenth, reading your Bible daily etc. Now don't get me wrong, these are really good things to do and very important, but then what about the surrendered part? If we are surrendered Christians we give all that we have to the Lord. In other words we surrender all. It may...

Reality TV versus Reality

I think that sometimes reality is harder to believe than what we see on TV; the truth -  more amazing than fiction... Just less than a month ago we had our first taste of the legendary 'challenge' part of Global Challenge: a mini amazing race. in our small group (consisting of Riann, Henk, Suiyen, Isa and myself) we had to milk a cow, take a photo in undersized wetsuites, hitch hike, raise R100 each, sit on a cannon, donate blood, sing in front of the new soccer stadium in PE; try on a fireman's uniform; chase, catch and carry around a live chicken (Leo), ride horses...
