Dear readers, thats the situation that most local people of the red sea face. Their income is tourism and those working in a shop, restaurant , internet cafe or hotel will face extremely long working hours 7 days a week with out a break for months. The bible teaches us to work for six days and rest one day a week, regardless of what you believe resting is part of staying healthy. Looking to buy food on a Friday afternoon our team members encountered that most shops where close, to realize that it is prayer time for the...

Here are some pictures from our time in Egypt. Hope to send some more soon. We are in Thailand at the moment busy with some ministry. It is really awesome to search God's heart for the things that He wants for us. It is very exciting and full of adventure. I am realizing God's spirit of adventure more and more each day.
From the north to the south, the beaches of the Galilee to the stone-cobbled streets in Jerusalem, the country shouts the name of our Emmanuel - God with us. But the echoes in the religion and the hate and the noisy youth murmur the depravity of our human souls. This is my second time in Jerusalem, and again the wailing wall is exactly that, a cause for despair. Against the wall an old woman is rocking back and forth. Pilgrims come from afar to leave their prayers rolled up in wads of prayer, stuck in between two rocks. On the...
While working at the Inthemba primary school, restoring and rebuilding the classrooms, almost all of the material were provided free from different people (thing like bricks, wooden planks, nails...) ... I forgot my money at home the one day while going to buy building material, but I could not turn back. so I asked the store ownner and God provided, got everything for free!!!!!!! (God please restore those childrens lives aswell and be a shelter for them!!!!) There is an intense need for love and attention in those people's lives, lets love and help all the people needing...
In this part of the world people use code names. When in public, in the company of strangers, over the phone or even in emails the real thing is never said. Sensitive names of people, places or organisations are all coded (the above title is an example of what our codename would look like). Just yesterday we heard of a South African who was told to go for a routine police check. When he got there he was handcuffed and flown to England with a Not allowed back in Morocco stamp in his passport. His wife and children still in...
Fatima - Portugal 8 Dec our local "fostering" families took us to Fatima, head of the Catholic Church in Portugal. It was a national Catholic festive day in Portugal and the cathedral grounds were swamped by hungry hearts. Hungry for salvation, yet the salvation their religion offers them does not refresh their hearts!! We saw people buying and burning candles as some way of keeping their light shining in a world full of darkness ( the same darkness that keeps them blinded). Candles for every possible event in your life from birth, right through to death and for every possible...
Dear friends
During our visit to Guatemala last year a man prayed over me saying that I will live in homes I didn’t own and drive in cars that wasn’t mine.
Now, at the time that sounded crazy and I was most sceptical.
The pioneering journey continues! Since our stay in Dakar God has taken us across the Sahel (grasslands) of the West-Africa all the way to Niamey, the capital of Niger. As the team was away on their Luke 10 journey and we were only meeting up with them again in Bamako, Detlef and myself decided to go on our own little adventure. We visited the most western point of Africa, Point des Almadies, after which we explored the Lac Rose (pink lake) region. Lac Rose has a very high salt concentrate and therefore the pink colour of the water. It was...
So we've been away from South-Africa for about 5 and a half months now! Here's some news on what we've been upto as a team as just some personal growth and all kinds of things. Basically a brief overview this rollercoaster year so far... Okay in the beginning of March we started off in Brazil. There our main ministry was strengthening the ties between Global Challenge and the Agape church. We were commissioned to disciple 5 people from the church and meet and pray with them regularly. We also went to the tribes in the forest with Agape where they shared...
