God is faithful! This is all that I can say after what happened last night. Henro and Welman were out with the scooters when they ran into some Aussies down at the beach. Apparently the one guy commented on Welman’s hair by shouting “Napoleon Dynamite”… some might find this funny. Welman laughed (he found it funny) and they started chatting with them. The end result was sharing of the Good News to the lost and they blessed us with 2000 Baht in return. God is good. We had the morning to catch up on some backed up journaling, emailing and...
The month of August has stood out from the start of the year!!
So I believe you have read our Hidden world blog on our first week of travels. This was definitely not how you would start a journey - hitch hiking to Paraguay because you do not have enough money. But God provide to each of us in the way we needed and there is definitely a plan with our first week being so challenging regarding finances. So we made it to Santiago, Chile, in one peace, very excited to do our first ministry. Immediately the church embraced us, loved us and blessed us. So for me only one word describes Chile - OVERWHELMED. It started by God...
today i had a great time to exprience the city of budapest and see the museum of the Holocaust and that was an intense thing to do. saw how gods people were taken and destroyed by hate. i had a time spend time with God through all of this. the tour ended in a synagoge and it felt through all of this pain and suffering God still was in control. I had a great time to see the city too, Budapest is an amazing city and I cant wait to see what else God has instore to show me. the parents...
To say the last 2 ish weeks of training was interesting is as bit of an understatement. But training is done and I am getting the last of my things together since we are lifting of on Tuesday 5 March, so exciting times. "Short" ordered account Training went into the focus on the Holy Spirit with Oom Gerrie coming to visit us. I was excited and scared before we started since I always saw "radical" Holy Spirit experiences as a bit weird, but wanted to know more. Dr Gerrie van den Haas is a medical doctor, but is walking in...
Challenge day in Panajachel, Guatemala... It is lunch time and as we came to sit down, Jean, very brave and confident in his Spanish speaking skills, saidÑ ¨Perro, por favor¨ . For those of you that is not familiar with the language... he ordered a ¨plate of dog meat¨ for us!!! The poor waitress´ face - PRICELESS!!!! In this first couple of hours of our challenge the new Pink team (Jean, Jansie and Luiza) has taken pictures of nearly 70 tuk-tuks, 10 different nationalities and 3 soccer fields. We have seen the volcano and made a human tower in...
Just as winter threatened to close in on us we hopped over the equator! Since we began our travels it has been full of adventure and fun. Here are a few of the many "forever moments" I would love to share with you. Forever moments are those moments that you would like to last forever. God giving us the word that we would go up to Christ the Redeemer staue in Rio and then actually going because of miraculous provision! Realising we are not visiting churches but actually going to Copacabana beach and a tour around Rio with pastor Markos.......
Israel - the Holy Land. The land overflowing with milk and honey. The very first nation we encountered. With a lot of faith and no set plan we arrived at Ben Gurion in the early hours of the morning. This was it. Too late to look back, too soon to say what lay ahead. We just knew it was going to be a grande adventure with Jesus. And it was. Sleeping on the rooftop of a hostel with the most incredible view of Jerusalem, spontaneously dancing at the Western Wall - we did it all. All that the city had...
Yes Yes we had another challenge in Malaysia. It was amazing as usual and really joined forces with the locals to finish the tasks as soon as possible, and when I say locals I really mean locals. As most of you know me an JohanB was blessed to travel back to Malaysia in order to help the local church community with some IT problems they are experiencing. It came at the right time since we had to be out of Thailand on the third of April and we receive the good news on the 31 st of March. This...
