This week was the most wonderful week ever. In this six weeks I have been with Global Challenge I have grown a lot.

And we’re back!  There is a buzz of excitement in the camp as everyone is once again reunited after the Luke 10 journeys.  Please note that we won’t be giving much feedback on the journeys now, but extensive feedback-blogs will follow in the days to come.  Everyone is on such a spiritual high after experiencing God 1st hand for more than a week.  Not that we do not experience Him during other times, but as you can imagine, relying on God for everything you need takes a huge amount of faith and it keeps on growing.  Those of you who...

Have you ever crashed in a jungle by plane ? Well... neither have I. But I think the adrenaline levels I have experienced, landing in Manaus are pretty much the same as before the actual crash... Imagine a river so wide that out of the airplane you would mistake it with the ocean. And along the riverbed, an unending garden with all the shades of green you can think of. In 8 weeks of training, Global Challenge has transformed my whole way of thinking. Not only in my spiritual life, but in everyday living as well. I realised that my way of living is not in any way the standard of the rest of the world's. I was so consumed with the everyday routine, that was passed on from one generation to the next and finally to me, that I never even imagined that things could be done differently in other parts of the COUNTRY (nevermind the world). To our supporters, family and friends of the Southbound team, Greetings from Bogota Colombia! As we write this we are getting ready to depart for Peru this morning via, Leticia, Iquitos, Lima and then to our final destination of Chiclayo by Friday. God has been faithful in meeting our needs so far and although we don't have the finances as yet to complete the whole trip without some hitching and faith journeying, we are trusting God to provide the rest of our needs in abundance (1 Cor 4:2; Matt 25:21)! Proverbs 10:22 was given to us as a team for our journey to Peru and we are walking in this by faith!

Our time in Panama was split in two - the first few days in Gamboa, a beautiful, tranquil cul de sac little town on the Panama Canal with pastor Bill and the last few days in buzzing Panama City on the 15th floor of a hotel with the vibrant YWAM students. Gamboa is situated in a lush green jungle, where sloths hang in trees and howler monkeys cry out loud from deep within the jungle. Its the 12th of January and Basecamp 2009 has started! Explore Africa divided up into two teams and together with the other ten small teams of North- and Southbound, started to explore Jeffreys Bay in an amazing race.  We had to take variuos pictures at different places as allocated on our task paper.  The finishline is in sight and and Explore Africa Team 1 is going strong.
