Red Hill Will Return

Paul from GK Construction in the States looking at his work!RED HILL - 27 March 2008

I often wonder what life would be like once Red Hill returns to complete normality.
What would substitute the sounds of hammers pounding nails, saw’s sawing wood and sink being dragged over the rocky surface?
Would it be reduced to an eerie stillness, void of all life, the only sound the wind howling in the Hills, echoing voices of a community that is long forgotten? Forever incinerated by the raging fires that swept across the peninsula.

Sa to Egypt

Sa to Egypt
Dear friends, I am currently at the red sea with the Global Challenge expedition team for 2009. There are 3 one year teams for 2009, North Bound, South Bound and Explore Africa. The year started with training on the 12 of January in Jeffreys Bay in the Eastern Cape, the 3 weeks where filled up with teachings, practical preparation and serving at a local school in Ithemba. At Ithemba school we painted a huge part of the outside wall's and roofs. Repaired rotten wood panels on the class rooms, painted class rooms on the inside and cleaned out toilets and with the help...

Whats been happening in my spiritual life recently...

Whats been happening in my spiritual life recently...
Identity book in Jesus Christ Northbound has arrived in China for a week, and tomorrow will be the final destination of some of our teams. We have no clue what we doing, but we never do because God is in control. No-one speaks english here besides us, and anonymous people. So far my Global experience has been amazing to say the least, not only because of my great team members, but most of all it's because of my God in heaven!! We had a prayer morning asking God to really show us what His perfect will for us as...

Simple, humble, precious

There’s something about standing next to a beautiful Masaai, with his stretched earlobes, listening to his deep voice, worshiping our great God... this is real, this is so authentic, to hear these people’s cry to God for their families, their villages, their land.

‘Blessed be the poor because they will receive the Kingdom of God’ (Matt. 5)

‘Blessed be the poor because they will receive the Kingdom of God’ (Matt. 5)
Hi everyone! What an experience the last couple of days! These people have a very intimate relationship with God – it is all they’ve got! Their praise and worship is so powerful and filled with the Holy Spirit’s presence, yet very simple. It really feels like church and how it is suppose to be, like in the Bible! One of the duties that we as a group have to do is Gate duty from 11pm until 6 am at Sing Mun Springs. Me, Marna and Phillip had a great time. We shared, journal and walked 7 times around the...

Amazing Provision - can you expect anything less from our God?

Amazing Provision - can you expect anything less from our God?
3 Weeks?! THREE weeks! Is it possible to experience so much of God’s provision in THREE weeks? Well, apparently it is. These past few weeks God has revealed Himself so greatly to us – in so many ways. His amazing provision has been made very real and tangible to us. So amazing, that we were able to rely primarily on our testimonies of the past 3 weeks, for the opportunities we had to preach in Santiago, Chile. To read more about His provision for our team, please go read our Hidden World blog. We are also posting updates on facebook...

A Taste for travel

A Taste for travel
I would love to report the first taste of travelling was a local cusine made by a friendly stranger in the side of the street who couldn't help but allow a friendly 'mzungu' to taste what she was making BUT unfortunately my first taste of travelling was the previous nights dinner  :( The excitement, the heat, the heat and did I mention the HEAT got the better of me! You would think 2 years of living in Manguzi would have perpared me for the humidity and heat! So there I was in Legho 'hotel' where of the five rooms 1...

First lesson, in the final class of GC

The next episode...:) Q; Whats was the most difficult thing for you in this time? A: Learning God's true character, we can never know everything about our Creator but walking with Him, you get to know some of His characteristics. This has been hard because He shook my world, He showed me that in fact I knew absolutely nothing about Him and really showed me who He truly is. Arriving in Dubai I had a few days to get my visa sorted out, to put you up to date, it was almost impossible to get the visa in a period...
