I had some sense knocked in to me

A 24 year old volunteer (me) time keeping at the Global Leadership Academy sports day was hit over the head with the high jump pole that was holding up the sail providing shade in the sweltering heat. The windy city of PE certainly lives up to its  name. She was rushed to the local GP by her caring team leaders. She narrowly escaped with a few stiches of laughter from herself and witnesses to this sensationalist scene. For once we can be thankful for her exceptionally hard head! Now that I have your attention....    17 Days ago I began...

Summary of Training 2014*

Summary of Training 2014*
My Journey began in 2013 as soon as I heard I’m accepted for Global. The biggest Challenge at that time was to trust God to provide finances for me to go on Global in 2014. I had this knowledge in me that God will provide for my family (I have seen it through the years growing up), but for the first time I have to trust Him to provide for ME. I can surely tell you that God is, Yehovah Jirah: The God that provides.  By beginning of January this year I already had more than half of my funds...

Le tour de "Taailand"

Le tour de "Taailand"
Thailand   Or as I would describe it, taailand. Because as one of my team mates would  say - "The team leader got this crazy idea of cycling from Bangkok to Phuket". Yes, we got the cheapest bicycles we could find - half of them single speeds - and we travelled, with our luggage, for 6 days from the capital to the renound island of Phuket.   We had a week to spare before we would join with the Asia Centre Foundation. So the idea came to cycle from Bangkok to Phuket.  A gruelling 860 kilometers.   After coming overland...

Ephesus

Ephesus
The Lime Teams travels have led them to a place where Paul spend 3 years of his ministry.  This city has been rebuild three times but we were surrounded with the after picture of history unfolding infront of our eyes.  Where once a cıty stood we only see rocks and ruins.  Let me take you on this journey with us:            The Great Theater Infront of the Theatre we see a street that in the past use to strech to the sea shore.  It's hard to imagine the sea being here because when you look around you there is no sign of the...

LIME TEAM challenge from Bangkok to Phuket!

LIME TEAM challenge from Bangkok to Phuket!
We are on a race!!! We hope we are winning... :-) We were greeted by the air-hostess this morning with a pleasant sentance... "sincronize your watches". The challenge is simple. Complete a list of tasks and sight-seeing challenges in Bangkok and surrounding areas. The finish line is tomorrow night 20:00 in Phuket! From eating sticky rice and mango, riding through the streets with a took-took, rasting stinky feet fruit, feeding fish, taking the train, beeing threatened for jumping on grass, seeing a palace to meeting locals. What a privilage! We are however still on our way to our final destination. Soo...

Clean hands & Pure Hearts

I want to testify of God’s goodness during our time in the Amazon and how He planned a divine appointment for us here in Iquitos. Our original plan was to travel from Iquitos to our contact in Benjamin Constance in Brazil’s side of the Amazon, but He had different plans.  Before arriving in Iquitos we have been praying about our time in the Amazon and staying here (Iquitos) a few days to see where we can assist with recent floods the. So as we arrived in Iquitos the plan was to split the team in 2, half would stay in...

Arrived in ZAMBIA

herman_1.jpgWe have arrived in Zambia in the middle of a large rain forest type area.

On Monday night we heard that our first challenge would be to travel to Zambia on a budget of about R700 p/p.
Thus we had to travel from just outside Pretoria to Zambia in faith.
