Community Training Centre – Kotini Eden, Zambia

Yesterday our team had the opportunity to go to the village school, where the principles office is about 2 x 2 m and in rain season the teachers and kids have to walk halfway through a river to get there! We got the Grade 4 and 5 kids and taught the kids the concept of “Look at Jesus” (Heb. 12:2) [while looking through their toilet roll lookers!], sang English and Bemba songs and Johannes lead us in some real fun games.

God is not to be bound by religion.

I think it's important to remember that God didn't create religion. People did. It's funny, we run around placing little labels on all sorts of spiritual things and calling it OUR RELIGION. Isn't that just what we do with people as well? See we meet people. We kinda talk to them for a while, "get to know them" without getting to know them and then we slap a sticker all over what we "know" about them and we file them in a box with a lot of other stuff with the same stupid label. Our own little factory if...

SaMe SaMe....

SaMe SaMe....
Reality check!!! As this is a journey based on a God seeking lifestyle I firmly believe that this year isn't just a year', but part of an intergril season. A season in our lives where our attitudes are moulded, characters shaped and actions initiated according to God's will for each individual. So where does that leave me? SAME SUZI... BUT DIFFERENT :) But what God did reveal to me and what I would like to share is that of Romans 13... My choices (as God gives me free will) may not always lead to or be sinful- but they do...

The extraordinary in a very ordinary way...

The extraordinary in a very ordinary way...
It has been a while since my journey and my last blog but felt that what God has done has been pressing on my heart to share, the last time i posted i was busy with training the 2012 students, so let retrace a few steps…  I am currently living in the world renown surfing town of Jeffrey’s bay in a house in the ‘coloured community’ of Pellsrus with 3 incredible roomies: Brandon from America, Joy from Worcester and Cornelius from Zambia…I must say that the reactions I get from people when they hear where I live and who I...

Malaysia & Thailand in Faith (Part 1)

Hey guys Sorry for the late update.  A combination of writer’s block, lack of internet access and laziness. We are currently in Auckland, NZ and having an amazing time on all levels.  You will however have to wait for my next blog to read about that.  This blog is about our Malay and Thai adventures. That is exactly what it was, an adventure from beginning to end.  Our stay in India the previous month was pretty stable concerning food, accommodation and ministry, but April was the total opposite.  Apart from our flights in and out of Kuala Lumpur (well... not even...

Egypt (Blessing upon Blessing)

Egypt (Blessing upon Blessing)
Blessing Upon Blessing Egypt sounded like such a bad place to be in by the way the Israelites were slaves and Pharao with his hardened heart. But today it is a pritty nice place! :-) There was a few high points and very few low points for me in Egypt. Firstly there was DAHAB!! We visited Dahab for a week to give us some rest after the first part of the journey. In Dahab we enjoyed the eastern restaurants where we all were seated on the ground on comfy pillows and enjoyed Coconut milkshakes. We also went snorkeling at places like the...

A stormy day, a foolish question and a blanket = GRACE

It is a rainy Sunday in Guatemala today...out of the quietness inside of me I feel this strange urge to write a blog! So with my cup of tea and blanket, I am starting to write something about something that I haven't thought through at all...it's a new thing for me!  But truth is, that is what this whole journey with God has been like for me, up to this point at least! Out of everything, I could not figure anything out beforehand or plan it into detail, I cannot control it or understand it, and in some cases I...

Through East Africa

Through East Africa
The stories of my friends from East Africa have been soul-gripping and heart-wrenching. From Ethiopia through Kenya and Tanzania to Rwanda and forget not Uganda, I have been listening to my new friends tell tales of redemption and of hope for tomorrow. The good thing is that I have had time and opportunities to speak life-giving words into lives of many young people and the old alike. Classroom discussions, chats and lectures have had a profound touch in both my life and those that I have come in contact with in the past few months of my trip around East...
