Henro's redemption...!

Hi, I am Henro Jordaan and I am 19 years of age. I know that it’s rather late for my first blog, now I am trying. I have never been the best with computers, but there are a few experiences that I have to share. Not too long ago I was in a struggle with God and what He wanted for me. I was uncertain who I was and what I was destined for. I prayed and prayed and the journey that I was going to do got cancelled. This as you can imagine, confused me even more and I...

A silent discontent

The other night I sat on a bus from Jerusalem to Bethlehem. Grossing Israeli check-points to Bethlehem in Palestine. I started a conversation with a Palestinian man that sat next to me. After traveling through these check points for a few days, I lived through the struggle these Palestinians endure daily. Carrying work permits to enter a country that was recently still theirs, it ominously reminded me of the pass system during the apartheid era. The man started to fidget and sweat and said under his breath, "O no now they have me, their going to take me to jail."He explained that it is...

Nameless (like those dying while we silently drink our coffee)

I am sitting down at the Museum café; overwhelmed, disturbed and hungry. There is a revolution in my heart. My mind keeps repeating “All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing” (Edmund Burke) I am convinced of man’s fallen state – an inherent evil nature – expressed in extreme violence and extreme silence. The Genocide memorial in Kigali, capital of Rwanda, paints the picture of a bloody past. In this clean, rather orderly and safe country almost everyone older than 18 years remembers a murdered relative and friend or has murdered a...

Just a few thoughts on sunsets..

Just a few thoughts on sunsets..
Sunsets cannot be described by words or poems. Our english language with all it's rich descriptive words falls short to make the reader understand fully what only the writer can experience. Photo's and video's can only give a two dimentional reproduction of the glorious array of colours. Megapixels cannot fully capture the majesty or do justice to God's original artwork. I can tell you that experienced a few breathtaking sunsets while on this journey. I can tell you about  the magnificent oranges, pinks purples and reds, I can post pictures but you will not get the gooseflesh I got.  And...

Pray for INDIA

Pray for INDIA
Pray For -INDIA - Hello everyone. India always fascinates me and it is my second coming into the country and I am still surprised by its beauty but also with many suprises. We flew over Cairo (where we stayed a day at the hotel - free of charge) and at night while we waited for the plane we met a brother from America-Washigton, Seatel, Kenny, and cooperate with the House of Pray, who traveled to India-Bombay not knowing where and what he will do there  but God had told him he must go to Bomabay, we started to make friends with him and we all decided he is to be with us...

Short & sweet Nicaragua*

Our time in Nicaragua was short and busy! We were only there for a week, but we got a lot done! And God once again led us all the way and took over wherever we went! We served under Hosanna church, which is a huge church in Managua. During our time in Nicaragua, we were joined by the Hidden World team, Liesel, Jakes and Francois! What a blessing that was! Liesel was on South Bound last year, and during their Luke 10 journey, they made the connection and started a relationship between Global Challenge and Hosanna church! Once again we...

New Zealand Impact

New Zealand Impact
New Zealand Impact Global Challenge Expeditions 2010; Work Your Way Hi everyone We even made it to New Zealand, and it was always my dream to visit  New Zealand and here I am, what a blessing. When we arrived in New Zealand the first thing that came to my mind is how far my home from me and it is was scary looking at the world map and you can’t believe that you are at the bottom of the world. New Zealand is one of the safest countries in the world, at the airport we spent almost 2 hours, browsing...

Crossing Jordan

I love the Word and how it is alive and living!  Many times in my life have I read Old Testament scriptures… and it was boring.  That was because I read them without the understanding that comes from living in the Spirit.  Then it becomes alive, exciting and applicable. We often do not understand God’s plans for our lives and it frustrates us because we do not see or do not even know of the bigger picture.  This is exactly what happened to the Israelites when they were in the Wilderness for 40 long years.  They were glad to not...

This faith thing…

Land Rover

Slices of Life - Dini Esterhuizen

This faith thing...

Once we had three members on the same outreach team that stuttered. Driving to Mozambique, all three were in the same Land Rover.  Piet, deeply Afrikaans,  was sitting next to English speaking Martin. Piet spoke in English for Martin’s sake and Martin, out of politeness, insisted on Afrikaans for Piet’s sake. With the language challenge plus the stuttering, it took from Pretoria to Witbank to tell the first story.
