As we drive through this seemingly unending luscious and natural
bush all around us, we view a picture perfect landscape through the dirty bus windows which has now become our eyes to the world we see....

Upon arrival at our new hosts in Livingstone, we were introduced to our new environment... an Orphanage that hosts 10 orphans. This is where we spent the next 5 days of our time in Livingstone.
Five days, five countries… We travelled from Guatemala to Costa Rica, passing through El Salvador, Honduras and Nicaragua. God really surprised me and it was such a joy to truly trust God and go wherever He had prepared for us. I had found myself laughing at the situations and places we were in because I really experienced the promises of God so practically. In Psalms 91 God says ‘If you say the Lord is my refuge and you make the Most High your dwelling, no harm will overtake you, no disaster will come near your tent for He will command...
How could I have known Our King looked normal Nothing was special about Him I thought Bruised and beaten "He brought it upon Himself" While all along He got broken So I could be whole "No one knows my pain" He knew it first-hand He knew pain until death It was my pain He was punished Now I can have peace It was what God had in mind all along To crush Him with pain He looked death in the face And didn't flinch The thought of me Made Him endure I have access to the Spirit Because He exposed...
HEY!!! So blog nr1 motivated me for blog nr2 well actually Jesus motivated me. So yeah enjoy reading this amazing testimony of what God did in my life this morning ( yeah yeah I could not wait for tonight I had to right it now ) So this testimony started 3 days ago. At the celebration the Holy Spirit started to stir something inside of me, but I couldn't figure out what this weird feeling was inside of me ( God are you coming to take me home? ). After a while I just let go and let God speak...
Since we have been in Thailand, we have met up with some additional guests to the Southbound family!
Finding 1 Corinthians 13 in Ethiopia I won’t for one second say that I fully comprehend the meaning of love. Even though I have been blessed beyond measure in experiencing love from family and friends, there are still times that I would have to confess that I have no idea when it comes to love. But in the streets of Addis Abba, among the people of Ethiopia, among the widows and orphans, among my own team members, I got the chance to experience it a new. Ethiopia is full of opportunities to become a real feel-good-doer of the law. In...
Writing in Ethiopia wasn't easy, initially. It could be there was too much to write and think about. Reading on the other hand has been a joy, or maybe it was just the quality of the books. I finished Shantaram which I regard highly. And now, 'Into the wild' is leaving a mark. I guess if you aren't writing, you might as well read. Alchemist is next in the line-up. Some say it is a moving combination - Shantas, Into the Wild and the Alchemist- in that order. "Sometimes we see the past so clearly, and read the legend...
Indonesia: 258 million people spread over 13 000 islands and the reason I joined Global… Generally speaking I have a rule to not build expectations but rather approach every situation with an open mind and teachable spirit. Unfortunately this was not the case in terms of my view on Indonesia. I have never had much interest in travelling to the east so when my attention fell on Indonesia one night while praying, I knew this country was special. Since that evening more than a year ago, I have not been able to shake the idea that God wanted me to...
Mozambique/ Zanzibar Journey The road to the island The rest of the group, Adi and his wife Rohan, Dan, Cristyanne and Corneli safely arrived in Vila Ulongue on the 21st. The next morning our departure was delayed with a quick visit to the hospital. We had to test Adi and Ro for Malaria- it was luckily negative but it turned out that they had tick fever. All in all the Malaria testing and the anti-biotics cost us 12MTs- thats about R4.- For both of them! That night we slept next to Lake Malawi and spent the next day there...
