Global Challenge Missions Blog Archive: These are real blogs, from real people, bringing real change...

This is where it all started.

Since my last blog so much has happened. I cannot tell it all. One of the top moments for me was when we watched the sun set over the old city from Mt. Olives and when a Muslim said the words he wants to show his family the Bible. He gave his heat to Christ moments after!!

Who am I?

My name is Louis, meaning warrior. I am a warrior, submitting to the Authority of the Triune God, God the Father, Jesus Christ the Son, and the Holy Spirit. I believe the Word of God, the Bible, to be the infallible truth. I submit to being led by the Spirit of God, and to be sensitive to the movement of the Holy Spirit.  I will be on the Explore Africa journey this year. Our team is looking forward to see what the Lord will be doing in Africa. I will keep you posted during our journey.

Scrubbing till it sets you free

I’ve done a lot of scrubbing this month. (And the Lord has done quite a bit of scrubbing on my heart as well). Tonight I was scrubbing shoes. You know sometimes you have the opportunity to replace dirty old shoes and sometimes you have the privilege of scrubbing them until they are clean. I appreciate those clean shoes that shine like new ones but have the comfort and flexibility of being worn in by trails and adventures. I think our hearts work much the same. Sometimes God allows us to leave difficult circumstances, even if it means that we stay...

The Hill of war

[ As I walk the dusty roads of Red Hill, visiting people in their new shacks, I get convinced that this mission was more than just His. It’s mine as well. This is what it’s all about.

And so I pray everyday, that I serve not just the people but Jesus. Jesus is in Red Hill, it’s His. ]

Running away

I dont know if I still have the right to write on this blog, but I surely would love to share my short story. In January when I started global challenge, I realised how little I know God.  I got so afraid, and started to fear seeing myself clearly.  Incompetent, not spiritual enough, and ugly.  In order to protect myself I decided to find fault with my fellow brothers and sisters.....and the whole system I found myself in. I decided that suffering is unnecessary, that everything was just peer pressure.  I decided that Im wasting my time and money.  That...

Finding a Blog

As it has been shown, I am clearly not one for rating my experience of each country along the way. Being part of the communication team for hidden world, I have found that my own feelings are already reflected in the team blogs and newsletters, that when it comes to writing my own, I have nothing left to say. But I have finally figured out what to write on my own blog- only took 5 months.  Reflecting back on the last 6 months of my life, I can't believe how much has changed- besides moving to a different country...

After the collision

IMG-20180829-WA0037
Whilst in Bali we had a physical representation of what was busy happening in our team. An earthquake followed by a possible tsunami.    The earthquake in Bali was long overdue. It has been building up and getting closer and closer to collision. When it finally did, it was very sudden, unexpected to be as bad as it was. Just a few moments after the earthquake the tsunami warning hit. Everyone was told to try and prepare themselves - possible evacuation.    Throughout this year i have come to love my team more than i had realized. In Bali, we had an earthquake. Things in team...
